I live in the US and looked it up on the wii shop but couldn't find it. I am very grateful for this, I was actually waiting for this day to happen now I just have to find it...

Regarding "why Wii?", not everyone immediately buys the latest and greatest technology, gaming system, etc. I bought a Wii some years ago, still have it, and still use it once in a while. I have no desire for a newer system at this point in time, partly because I don't use my Wii that much as it is, and partly because I do practically all of my gaming on the computer. I don't think there's anything wrong with Crunchyroll trying to provide access to their service on more devices, even if they are a bit older. There are people who have them and use them, the original poster (one of CR's managers) included. Given that not everything does work properly -- I've had issues with CR on my Roku for longer than I can remember -- adding support for more devices gives people more options for viewing, which can be helpful.

As far as the app goes, apart from having to find it in WiiWare, which was unexpected but specified in the original post when I read it just now, it's OK. Some of the text seems a little small, but that could be my TV (it's old and not particularly big). I did a quick test and it seems to work fine. I was able to start up a video without any trouble, and the subtitles were readable from where I normally sit in my room. It would be nice to see some mark of which shows I have and haven't watched, like the orange underline on queued videos on the web indicates. But at a first glance, the app is fine and it seems to work much better than my Roku (which I still wish they'd fix).

Even if this isn't the best thing around for everyone, thanks for offering CR on another device that some of us do have and use.

Did you look under WiiWare? Apparently that's where it is.

Thanks. You go to where you buy games so you can access the search bar and type it, that's how I finally found it because it is not where the other apps are.

I it wont be in HD. The best the wii pumps out is 480i. It might look HD if you stand really far away. It would be HD (High Distance) video! HA! Jokes...

The image quality is bound to be a little inferior, as the Wii does not have digital video output, but uses a composite cable.

There was also the option of a component video cable (provided the TV had those inputs, which while normal on an HDTV was somewhat rare on CRT televisions).

The component cable adapter USE to be available at Radio Shack stores (before bankruptcy) . I put one one my sister's Wii and PS2 (has multiple inputs) and it gave both a clearer picture , especially the PS2 . But by drop support for the smart TV/blu-ray players for this ? Also , the 480P on the blu-ray looked better than on her Wii . It would upscale the picture (the blu-ray) to HD quality (somewhat) 720P .
