I've seen the mods here go as far as to just delete specific words from a post, or give a warning rather than flagging initially. Out of all the forum sites I've been on, that's the most courteous I've ever seen an issue handled.

^^ I agree with this. For the most part, the mods on Crunchyroll seem pretty gentle. Though I have a very firm rule of: "People are more likely to treat you like a human being when you do the same for them."

I think we all know why your shit would get deleted.

They already PM the person who posted the thing, I don't see any need to say much more than that. They'll add notes sometimes as to why they edited a post but most of the time it's pretty much nunya to anyone outside of the poster.

Hmm not for me, this is probably the first forum that i have ever been on where entire threads are deleted without warning.
No post's deleted or edited or warnings just bang, thread gone.
I've seen it happen here several times.
Even on threads that seem very popular or ah, active.
Seems a bit shit to me but eh.
Not just locked either but gone.
Usually in the past(at other forums) a mod would give warnings or clean the thread up a bit.
The only time i have seen a mod do that here is when people didn't trim down a post enough when it was a quote of a quote of a quote of a quote, etc
or when people posted an image or video link as a response.
Seems lame to me that if one person flags something that the entire thread gets deleted.

Still nothing compared to the BS reddit is pulling of the last few weeks/months.

I didn't get a PM when a thread i made was deleted. I did get one though when i was banned.

Yeah, people seem to forget the golden rule.

No. Only the user whose post has been altered or whose topic has been deleted should need to know. It has the most to do with that user, so it doesn't seem okay to request this sort of mod behavior simply because we are sort of nosy and curious.
