At that point, there's probably the option to have wires in the brain that just bring you to orgasm when you feel like it. Just flick a switch or press a button, and you can even choose to keep going until you feel like turning the device off.

When humans make artificial something, it is never as good as the nature's creations.

I think that's our limitation, we can't actually exceed what nature has intended. There are things happening in the natural womb that we don't understand, since we don't understand, we are unable to replicate it.

And a mother's emotions during pregnancy can affect the emotional and physical wellbeing of the faetus. I don't see how we can transfer that in artificial wombs Would the person born from artificial womb be emotionless??? I don't get it.

As for children, I don't want any. I think children are the most annoying things on this planet. Yes, I was a child once, but I didn't have to endure my own bratty behaviour.

What do I think of it? Normally, I wouldn't care in the slightest. I can see the positives, but I can also see that this would just be another option that people would turn to instead of adoption.

Lol op said it takes away the need for women yet it takes two to make a baby. It takes away the need for men too.

Current technology allows for a child with only a mother.
The technology has not been applied to humans.

I'd say it's fair to use artificial wombs to create children. Women can already survive without men by fertilizing their own eggs using DNA from themselves or another women, using a cellular needle, which artificially "inseminates" the egg. Using an artificial womb is just the other way around, but for men.

There is one difference though, which is that men would need women alive anyway, or at least their DNA. This is because every human's chromosomes contain a sequence labeled "X", women are labeled "XX", and men are "XY". So in the previous example of self fertilization, women could survive on forever without men, but it would mean that humans as a species would be 100% female, because men are not needed for that process. If men did this artificial womb thing, they would need "X" chromosomes, which means they would need a female egg.

Basically, when people mate, the female always passes down an "X" chromosome to the child, and the father passes down either an "X" or a "Y", which determines the sex of the child. I'm in favor of artificial wombs, because all they do is put men on equal standings with women, and in fact may even be more fair, since artificial wombs cannot replace women in the species, while artificial fertilization can replace men in the species. As far a bioengineering goes, I think it would improve the quality of life of future generations, and make people's lives easier.

I'm all for artificial wombs, but in a different context than what the OP has planned. Instead of using them to create life, I think we should transplant unwanted fetuses into them. Basically, if a woman gets an unwanted pregnancy (whether it's by rape or her own foolish choices) or a pregnancy that could lead to severe health problems for the mother instead aborting the developing child we could instead transport it into the artificial womb so it could develop there. That would pretty much end the abortion debate and both the pro-lifers (at least, the TRUE pro-lifers) and the pro-choicers would win!

Nice idea but you'd still have to find parents for these children. As things stand now many children services around the world still have an abundance of orphans, abandoned, neglected and or abused children that need homes.

I doubt it, such a device would be deemed unsafe after some guys pounded the button until they died in euphoria.

True, we would have to fix the adoption/foster services first.
