As the title says, I think we all make conscious/unconscious judgement about a person based on how they look upon first appearance. I don't believe in first appearances at all, but I do tend to get a feel for what this specific person is like based on their fashion statement. Buttons up with a nice pair of oxfords probably tells me something along the lines of neatness and tidiness, while a loose white tee with ripped jeans exudes a sense of wildness. That being said, do you guys think fashion plays a role in defining you? To add to that question, does it play a role in others defining you?

Thanks for reading guys and I hope we can get a good discussion on this ^^

People see me as a dirty tramp that doesn't care enough to try to look nice, because I dress like a dirty tramp that doesn't care enough to try to look nice.

"...do you guys think fashion plays a role in defining you?" I hope not. "...does it play a role in others defining you?" Probably, but I don't notice it really.
On any given day, my attire consists of one of 5 combinations: t-shirt and jeans, t-shirt and shorts, white t-shirt and black pants (if I'm working; it's part of my uniform), polo shirt and jeans, or button up and jeans if I need to "dress up" for something. Shirt colors vary, but I very rarely wear graphic t-shirts.

I'm told I tend to look pretty laid-back and easygoing without looking messy. I don't wear T-shirts all that often, usually a casual shirt with buttons, perhaps some fitted jeans. I don't wear clothes that are baggy or tight. A casual coat or jacket is worn every now and then. I'm often complimented on my choice of casual coats.

Superdry forever.

When I go formal, however, I go all-out. Cuff links, polished shoes, fitted shirts, custom-tailored jackets, good cologne, a gold ring, etc.

Indeed it those define you...

Going outside in public people would look at your clothing first as well your skin color rather than your character and personality in which is the perfect example to define you.

I usually dress pretty casually, so I guess that's a reflection of my down to earth personality. Sometimes I do like to dress up a bit though, and surprise people.

My style of dress is pretty plain. Usually, I wear a t-shirt tucked into cargo pants. I'll add a button-up shirt if I want to look more formal, or switch the pants for shorts and untuck the shirt if I'm doing anything where I need the mobility. Virtually every article of clothing I own is solid-colored. I don't like patterns unless they're very simple, and I avoid logos or illustrations as much as possible. I like my clothes to be low-key and austere-looking, precisely so they don't draw attention to me. If I'm noticed, I want to be noticed for something relevant.

My fashion defines me as a poor Walmart shopper.

I think all my clothes are ugly, which is why I avoid going outside at all costs, and also because i'd rather be on my computer/phone then outside...

Pretty much as a poor person. I have about 3-4 pairs of wearable jeans, 5-6 wearable shirts, and three pairs of shoes that are all in terrible shape with holes and soles falling off. I haven't bought new clothes or shoes in 5 years... though I have a pair of jeans or two I got from Goodwill. :)

I don't mean to brag but I have a great fashion sense and I love putting together clothes. But I don't like to judge ppl on what they wear, so regardless of what u wear If I like u . I don't mind what ya wear. I also believe what wear doesnt necessarily mean ur personality traits r a certain way.... Like nice neat. I know some ppl who dress not the best but their living space is neat.
