So this is the fantasy kind of swordsman, then?

Swordsman and such are often romanticized, but they didn't differ that greatly from soldiers of today. Yeah, most warriors back in the day had a code or oath or so on, but soldiers of today are still expected and trained to die if necessary. They don't want to, of course, and avoid it when they can - just as they did back then. There were also a lot of tricks used back then to get one up on the enemy - it wasn't all honor and bravery.

War hasn't changed in anything except the scale and the equipment.

Yeah, I figured as much. I didn't really mean to turn that into a rant, by the way - just sort of happened.

Anyways, I think I would choose sword. I don't want to hurt anyone, really, and I hate violence. I could just sorta keep away, use a shield and stuff, to stay safe while not hurting anyone.

"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed."

You get a cookie if you know where that is from.

The Dark Tower series obviously.

Oh, to answer the question I don't know. Why not both?

Guns because of Anti Material rifles. I don't think a sword could take out a tank - Well if snipers count, if not swordsmen

In games and stuff, I never go ranged. It's boring. Melee was always funner.

In real life, even though I have swords and a collection I maintain fastidiously, I'd probably choose a gun in a dangerous situation.

If we're discussing fantasy, then without a doubt, swordsman.

I'm taking a third option and going with gunblades.
