What did you think the D stood for?

& have you actually been diagnosed with it?

Here is a good example of Multiple Personality Disorder:
A friend of mine has this and he only has one other personality and when his brain switches to that one it only lasts for about 10-15 seconds. His mood becomes darker and he doesn't talk, he just lashes out at a random whether it's an object or a person. When his brain switches back to his original self he acts as though nothing has happened and doesn't remember anything that has happened in that short period of time.

I would have to agree with ahojcookie in that I think that everyone has multiple "though patterns" but they certainly do not have multiple personalities.

but as i read in the book, sometimes they know that they "switch", so sometimes you are aware about this "switch"

Ya that's the actual disorder. sometimes the other personality lasts longer and knows of the 'main' personality, but usually the 'main' personality has no idea about other personalities.

^In most cases that's true. In cases where the person is actually aware of their "other lives" ( While it is in fact a personality some people consider them to be a another life withing their own) they either come to terms with it, or sometimes have a bad back lash. I'm amazed at how many people know about Bi-polar but have yet to realize that yes in fact MPD exists. My nephew is in an early stage of it along with having ADHD.

Naruto is right though.

There are a lot of people who are diagnosed with some many different set backs, that many of them don't just sulk about it. A lot of them have come to terms with what they have and lead a care free life. While it's true that a lot of unfortunate stuff happens it doesn't mean it will hold that person back forever. I mean, I'm diabetic and I have heart problems....but most of the time I joke around No use crying over spilled milk. But it's also not something to be taking lightly.

Now ADHD ?, what was that ?, well it's true that if we aware of that MPD we shouldn't hold back forever, but i guess if you lready aware that you might get this MPD, it would be good to talk to other person that you trust (parents or friends), hope that they would help you during the "switch" time.

No, it's MUCH different than Schizophrenia (delusions, hallucinations, paranoia, hearing voices, scattered thoughts and disorientation, etc.)

I really don't believe that everyone has MPD/DID (also known as Dissociative Identity Disorder). It's a rare mental disorder actually! Many people believe that just because we have consciences, this makes us 2 different people, but really it's just our moral & logical reasoning. MPD/DID is actually way more complicated than that--having 2 or more personalities in one single person. Usually the person doesn't even know that it's happening. For instance, one person could name herself Sally and be completely outgoing, wild, dating a couple of guys; however during work hours she could switch to Sarah (timid and shy with customers, especially males) without noticing. Also, the two personalities are very extreme from each other, enabling to control mind and body functions... so it's much more than just an alter ego.
