Personally I'm a dub kind of guy for the most part, but I'm not going to demean anyone for having a certain preference. Preferences make us human, and people should be allowed to consume anime without being judged for what audio feedback they prefer. Though I agree that it's a silly argument; I'm surprised that the question comes up so much, as if what other people's preferences are should affect your own enjoyment in any way whatsoever.

WHO CARES BABY!!!
What about you guys?
I know this is a very repetitive topic in every single forum, website, social media etc.

Firstly... you say "who cares baby!!!"... well obviously you do since you made a thread about it.

Secondly... you clearly state that you are aware that this is a "very repetitive topic" yet you chose to create a thread about it anyway?

So thanks for contradicting yourself and cluttering this forum with another useless thread that has already been made thousands of times. In summation....

Plenty of good dubs, plenty of bad dubs. I like both as either way entertainment can be derived.

I like both, but I can see why people would prefer one over the other, whether it be subs instead of dubs, or dubs instead of subs.

Good dubs are good.

It's just a shame that 99% of them are shit.

I won't flame someone for liking shitty content, though. #SubsAreBest #DubsAreForScrubs

Dub is good when I'm multi-tasking. But they never release dubs for simulcasts... so there's no point in arguing.

Depends on the anime, a lot of dubs are really shit, though there are some good ones. Then of course there are some shitty Jap VA imo. For the most part, I prefer subs.

Depends on the Anime.

Example
Afro Samurai has to be watched in English, the Japanese version does not even get close
Inuyasha has to be watched in Japanese, the English version is poor
Total Eclipse Muv Luv, either language is good, both sets of voice actors did a superb job, and the voices match very closely
Bobobobobobo, the English voice over is absolutely hysterical, Don Patch is really messed up
Chyunibio, Japanese
Haruhi Suzumiya, either

Etc. etc.....

It is not one or the other, it is the quality of the voice actors at that particular moment

I don't care either way I'll watch it regardless.

It really depends. Most of the time Japanese voice overs with English subtitles are better because of the big competition for voice actors/actresses in Japan for anime. English voice overs are typically less competitive and people just read from the script and don't put any acting into their work. Most characters sound like the same person with different level tones to try but fail to make a character sound like someone else is voicing it. Japanese voice actors/actresses certainly do have a signature in their voice you can identify, but they have several very good voices that aren't just different tones of the same voice.

TL;DR - English dubs are okay when the voice actors/actresses care about their profession rather than just mindlessly read from a script. Japanese with subs are typically better due to way more competition so they take their profession way more seriously.

I can go either way.

I actually like the option to go back and forth, because sometimes, with either language, there is just a voice too awful to deal with...

In those cases I switch over.

Generally go with subs, though. Feels more genuine or something. Can't put my finger on it.

I watch both. I think that people who try to claim that 'True anime fans only watch subs' are pretty much full of themselves. I don't think it really matters what you enjoy, as long as YOU enjoy it. I love watching both dubs, and subs. I own several DVDs that are subbed only as well. There are a few anime series I wish had been dubbed before release, but only because I thought my dad would enjoy watching them. He hates subbed anything.
