I said 7 days from the original post, it's over when page 1 first comment has a top 10 list underneath a spoiler label, they were trying to be dramatic, instead they were being annoying

Sorry guys contests over, we have a winner.

Seriously though add another vote for this death right here because it destroyed me.

5 more days to get your vote in, it's not over until I have counted all the votes and made any tie breaking decisions (which will involve me watching any anime tied for a certain spot) so get your votes in

Now usually I don't participate in these but I have to for this one. My official vote go to

Clannad After Story:

Since Clannad is like the Big Joker of sad anime deaths, it shouldn't count. lol. So if Clannad didn't exist, It would have been

Your Lie in April

FMA

I was marathon-ing the series, and literally had to take a break after that one. It was just a complete emotional overload for me.

Yeah I was kinda a mess after I finished off that series. I love it, don't get me wrong, but goddamn, most series don't go for the throat like that and keep holding on.

Agreed, but I also don't see a better ending to it than that Shakespearean tragedy. Texhnolyze was a similar case. I guess sometimes the world just has to burn.

Anyway if we can get more votes in and less fluff that I must filter through that would be nice

Ah, I'm torn between choosing a more well-known character death (probably from the ever-popular Code Geass) that might actually win a vote, or an obscure one that I found even more impactful. Eh, obscure it is:

Kino's Journey

Honestly that is a good one. But, judging from most of the votes on here thus far if you don't vote for something that isn't A. Mainstream or B. happened in the last 5 years, most people probably won't know who you are talking about or won't care. I'm not trying to force my opinion on anybody, but anyone who has ever seen Trigun would vote the way I did. We'll see what happens though.
