Real life is complicated.

I wear so many different masks depending on the situation. I'm not even sure which one is the real me.

The forums are not different: I'm not lying, but I only show parts of who I am.
Given the relative anonymity, those parts I show are somewhat more honest than what I show in real life.

People scare me and I'm also scared of germs that people harbour so in reality I'm pretty anti-social and I don't like being put on the spot.

I will talk to people if they talk to me because ignoring people is rude. Online I tend to be more chatty than in real life unless I'm comfortable with the person I'm with.

I'm a very loyal and trustworthy friend to have ^-^

I'm more open to joining in with debates on the internet, but that's because I can pick and choose to join in with them when I feel like it, and I don't have to conjure up everything on the spot, I have time to think my points through. A debate in person can come up at any moment and as such I often disagree less because it saves me hassle when I don't feel like getting caught up in a lengthy, exhausting argument. I think most people are different on the internet; anonymity and various other factors can do that to people, it's just the way of the beast.

This is the case for me as well. I don't want to be involved in a debate unless I have the proper time to think things through. I can express myself far better through text than I can in real time, so in person, arguments just feel like a chore to me, because I know that it's more or less a foregone conclusion that the other person will be able to verbally overpower me. My more opinionated side tends to come to the fore on forums, whereas I can display my wit on instant messaging programs and the like with friends. In person, though, I'd best be described as quiet and easygoing.

It's called having diffrant personas and it's something everyone does. You can think of it like this, when you're with your parents then you most likely don't talk to them in the same way you do with your friends. Same logic applied online and anywhere in general. For instance I have friends who are into the metal genre of music, I don't talk about anime or any such stuff with them... But I do with my cosplay friends and "nerds" in general. So in other word this is just another persona you put on while being on a forum.

Yeah, I'm aware. No need to explain. I think most people are aware of this, actually. Did you recently learn about this concept?

That does not mean it applies to everyone, online. And that doesn't really address the question. Are you and HOW are you different on this forum?

Almost the same, though a significantly worse temper offline. Here, I have plenty of time to cool off, and I don't take things as seriously.

When I'm in the internet: I'm that typical poster that guarantees that the forum will never be full of quality posts. I rarely talk about anything seriously because that would just be dull. Unless I'm talking about something little that I fancy, I won't share more than a laugh. (And obviously, I like to speak like a weirdo sometimes.)

Outside of the Internet, my Internet side says "I'm no longer here". I rarely talk to anyone and I never try to crack a joke or even say anything in a less serious manner. I'm way too anxious to do anything if it means interacting with someone else. I talk more about stuff I hate than about stuff I like. Basically, my real life sucks up the serious side while the Internet side is busy laughing at everything and ignoring anything that doesn't pique my interest. Only exception to the rule is when I'm around with my "true" friends and parents, in which case I'm far more sarcastic and chill than otherwise.

IRL I'm much more shy. Actually takes me a while to get comfortable with someone. I never speak to anyone first unless they approach me. Tru shit. Other than that, I'm purrty much the same as I am online lol. except less shy online.
