Where are the flying cars? Where are the hoverboards? Where are the self-lacing shoes?

Back to the Future lied to us.

Well there is a hypothesis that time travel is in fact impossible and any actual time travel is just visiting a parallel universe which happens to be at that point in time you want to visit. So Back to the Future could be just visiting a parallel universe which happens to be more advance than our own... because reasons!!.

The real Doc. Brown has given us a very solid explanation on why our 2015 is different:

Besides, many of the predicted items are actually here and available to us!

Well the hoverboards at least exist. The one they made for that car commercial if anyone remembers that was powered by liquid nitrogen, plus the mini-segways that are commercially available are technically hoverboards.

Give it time in the next 20 years maybe but what they estimated was....yeah not possible.

We will most likely be immortal before we make flyable cars so that's one thing.

Well the time between "Man learning to fly" and our first trip to the moon/outer space was 30-60 years ( can't remember the exactly number) so it does seem pretty odd that the only thing that's changed with cars are the curves and "Fuel efficiency"

And as Facebook pointed out, we do have a rich moronic bully jerk who made his money off of casino skyscraper hotels making a try for world domination.

(But to answer the question, Bush screwed up our entire Flash Gordon 21st-century, by giving us an entire key decade when we couldn't build HAL or go to Jupiter, and all we could do for eight years was babysit some scruffy foreigners who liked to ham it up on home video...)

And it's been thirty years, but it's still sad to see Christopher Lloyd entering his Reverend Jim years.
