But that is just the "School is over, what now?" kind of feeling that is talking.
But I am so shy that I probably can't work that easily. So I stay home, doing nothing...Every day. NEET style.
I get the feeling of, if I wanna go on or not.
And no, I am not talking about suiciding.
Other things like, "why get up from bed?" or "just eat, no one is gonna like you anyway."

What do you guys feel? Ever get this feeling? Or am I just insanely stupid?
Most likely the last one.

Norwegian people are lazy...

Yeah really bad where I come from where those from other places comes here and are much more used to sun light and now are dealing with depression.

Also it hurts their bodies as well... so its not that good and either have to take meds (can effect you in some ways like allways)
So we sit here with many people that needs their vitamin and other things from the sun that you really don't get at all here.
We most likely won't have a week of sun before next summer by now and I guess in a week or 2 we get snow or ice.

would it be insensitive to suggest that you choose whether you want to end up suffering from major or walking depression?both are extremely popular and you'll have plenty of comrades.

Find your passion, and keep that close. Try to make a living out of it, or at the very least just find a career that you would enjoy going to every day. There has to be something out there that appeals to you, if not, you can always travel. Don't stress too much Meditation helps as well.

It saddens me to see these kinds of threads.

There is an easy solution:

Get up.

Get a job.

Socialize.

If you do not start, you will never be able to.

Stop using "shy" as a shield, it's pathetic.

Don't get me wrong, being shy is not pathetic, using it as a shield is.

Geez. Kids these days

Lol. People who give these kinds of advice are so bad. When you're out of school and work, you can't just "socialize." You're no longer in a forced social environment like school where you're forced to be around people.

Where should he go to socialize? Bars and clubs are for extroverts. He could go to anime cons or join clubs, but tbh, there aren't that many clubs or groups for youths or anime fans in a local area... And anime clubs or video game clubs are sponsored by schools and colleges... so...

So no, you can't just tell people to "go out there and socialize" when they don't have a venue for it. He could try meeting people at the park or while jogging but yeah.. good luck there.

SO You know, empathy! it's a good thing to have makes advice better.

Well you can start small. Find a new out going hobby. Library notice boards might have a club or two that may interest you or you could look up your local area for clubs online. Volunteer for something. Some places have volunteer bureas that set you up with placement or give advice where to start. Pay attention to your health, mental as well as physical. Volunteering can help give you experience dealing with people and and idea of what kind of work you might like to do. Those you volunteer with will also provide the necessary job references for when you're looking for paid work. Lots of shy people work paid or unpaid.

Your insanely stupid. Your a fellow Norseman and yet your whining about your own existence. Go hop on a boat and raid France if you have nothing better to do. There is lot for the taking and your just thinking of sleeping all the time?! You should be ashamed you will never get into Valhalla like that.

ive been there. I just started to figure out what i wanting in life. traveling helped me realize what that was too. now that i have life plans and goals. i feel like theres something in life again. i left school pretty early as a drop out shortly after i had my son so ik the feeling of having no life. just had to keep getting up every morning cause i had someone to take care of. which can get rlly depressing when you ignore yourself and care for others like your child. gotta care for both or life just gets hard. for me it did anyways i got really depressed. but i managed to get out of it and figure life out for myself and my child.

Nope.

But I do feel something similar. Sometimes I wake up, and I feel really hopeless, like I'm wasting my life/youth away doing nothing.

Eh, I think the reason for this phenomenon is that school is an institution and it benefits from draining the student's willpower. Once it's over you have to make your own way in a world without strict regulations or supervisors telling you where to go.

Well I get up work everyday to pay my bills and later return home and return to my video games, anime and block out the world, but I kinda get the OP. Kind of lost that fighting spirit to go out there and do something productive/bettering myself years ago seems a bit pointless after a while, especially when what I already have isn't half bad.
