Does the concept of clinical depression not exist outside of the U.S.? I see this kind of question from Europeans semi-frequently.

That is low level depression, generally treatable by some lifestyle changes. If a kickstarter is necessary you can see if a doctor wants to go with low dosage medicine.

Yes it does, plenty of people are drugged up on meds here for it. Heck, I feel like the suicide rate is climbing, 4 people I knew (1 a friend) in the past 3 years took their own lives, so yes I think so.

Relax, you are still young and you have not figured out how to handle everything you feel and experience yet because you have not developed all the emotional tools to deal with everything coming at you. The trick is to find a path and charge full speed, whether you like the path or not. Diving down a path will make you realize what you want and like; as opposed to having luke warm feelings for everything around you. Grab all the skills and experiences you can for now. This will allow you to gain the emotional tools you need to attempt to have a good life. You are feeling this way because your dream is unborn and undeveloped, you may think you have one, but it may not be a very strong one. Get into action mode, find the anvil of your soul 'the dream', find the hammer of your mind 'your skills', then forge the dream into reality. You have to act, there is no other way......
