Ever say you're going to do something, and a ton of other people do everything in their power to convince you your plan is bullshit?

I've had this happen a lot, and don't let them ever rule your decisions. I've lost a lot due to these type of people, learn from my mistakes. They just want you to live a miserable life like them, and that's the only thing that makes them happy.

So have you ever had to deal with people like this? What did they do to get you to forget your plans/decisions? How did you deal with these people?

Thought this was a sirjamesalot thread for a sec lol.

I usually just say that they're illuminati to their face lol. i'm kidding. this doesn't happen because i only like to talk about what's already done if i can't trust them to back me up from the start.

you should share your plans with people that can be impartial. best to choose who you ask carefully and never include family/ close friends in any of the plans lol.

Distance yourself from people trying to bring you down.

yeah, ask yourself if you'd give up when the people you can believe tell you that your plan is shit and what you'd do about it.

Positive people make a difference with a plan. Negative people are haters in disguise more distance or take then to the bar and leave them there

You have to look at your plan objectively. Feeling strongly and passionately is good for motivation but you sometimes lose yourself and lose your cool when doing that. Emotional choices are often hasty or just bad, especially when it comes to long-term stuff.

If you are receiving a lot of criticism for your plan, there's probably a reason that people who are close to you are telling you things you don't want to hear. Take some time to cool off so you can try to approach it from their point of view. Then, you can decide whether or not to proceed after you consider some of the factors they are considering. The more thought-out your plan is, the more likely it is to succeed.

It's not smart or heroic to take criticism badly. Don't shy away from judging yourself with the same rubiric you judge others. If you messed up, stop repeating the mistake. Nobody can laugh at you for realizing your plan wasn't the best and using a different approach.

I don't know where the notion that everyone who criticizes you wants you to fail came from. That's crazy. If you're going to brood over some criticisms and listen to them enough so that they affect you, at least try to pick out parts that are usable so it's not a complete waste of your time and suffering.

I have noticed a majority of people who complain about naysayers speaking negatively about their dreams/plans/aspirations tend to fail miserably at their dreams/plans/aspirations.

If an idea is terrible, I'd rather be warned than it end badly with people having had deliberately let me make a major f*ck up without having said something. At least, "naysaying" indicates that someone gives a damn enough to tell me what they feel.
