Pretty self explanatory, I always see groups of friends at conventions, schools, ect. I never really have had that I always end up dragging a non-anime fan to a convention with me I never really find opportunities to make friends that share this interest with me so I'm curious how you got yours ^-^

well u see i met steve and nikki a few years ago when i had no friends at all. they were there for me and into whatever i was into. some people have a hard time seeing how we get along, or even seeing them at all, but i know they're there and as long as we r friends my fragile sanity stays in tact

Online actually.

No one else likes it and to be honest, I'm not really upfront about it anyway unless someone specifically says they like it.

it depends. i took Japanese class in high school and thats where i met most of my anime friends. the second group are Anime North friends. we all cosplayed from Digimon one year and met at the photo shoot. third group again is Anime North, but i know these people through the various Facebook groups the convention has. we've never actually met at the con, but online we know each other... we should probably plan a met up one of these days...

I don't know anyone where i live that is into watching anime and its only been recently that ive gotten into it and been really enjoying it. I met a couple of people online in a game that love anime and got me to watch it with them. I've been watching it with them ever since :-)

Look for and go to local fan meetings if there are any, I started going to local fan meetings organized by a local forum I once frequented and from there on my circle grew quite considerably.

If there aren't any in your neighbourhood try the convention way!
When you're at a convention, and see a group of people having a drink and conversation somewhere, ask if you can join them and try to become part of their conversation. Yes, this may involve you eventually buying a round of drinks as well.
Before long, BAM, you've met some people sharing the same interest who, given you mutually want to keep in touch, can become good friends in the scene.
Over here where I live people going to conventions to try and make friends is not that uncommon, because people going there already have at least one thing in common, which makes for good conversation starters.

Another option for when you have friends who are also fond of anime, see if they have more friends sharing this and ask if they are willing to introduce you.

Anyhow, what it all boils down to, it is you that has to take the first step.

Introduce all your friends to ecchi anime despite their preferences and watch as they all slowly loose contact with you...

Haha but seriously if it doesn't accidentally come up in conversation, the rare times it does I go all out and probably get a little too excited during the discussion. Try to introduce your friends that don't watch it to a few shows you might think they will like, I have done this with multiple friends and got them into watching anime, granted not as much as I do but it still is something we can talk about and also occasionly watch together!

The times I have met others I swear is from me barely overhearing a discussion and then barging in and being like what is up my niggaz!

luckily, i grew up with a sibling, cousins, and friends who shared an interest in DBZ. as we got older, i kept watching stuff that aired on adult swim and i got more into it as most strayed away. some, though, still watched a lot of anime and still do to this day. the ones that don't are still interested/not judgmental about the community so i can still talk to them about random anime stuff.

I really have no friends who share the same passion for anime/manga as me. I just recently joined the anime club at our local college and I also volunteered at a con. It was a lot of fun, and I have met a few people through that. There also might be a local cosplay Facebook page in your area where you live where they post events and such you just have to be brave enough to go without your non-anime friends. Even if you don't have many friends you know there are a bunch of people out there that share the same interests, and they are all really cool. Crunchyroll is a great community to meet new friends too, but i'm sure you already know that! :3

I live with them. 3 roommates and 2 of them regularly watch shows with me. I mean they're more than anime friends I suppose, but I don't even know what that particularly means, but since I assume it's people you watch your anime with, I have to say those are the people.
