So, was Vincent Van Gogh the first body modification artist?

("I mean, look at that famous artist, he cut off his ear and sent it to his girl."
"Why would he do something like that?"
"I don't know...Maybe he wanted to 'ear from her.")

People can do whatever they want in order for themselves to be satisfied, as for me i dont think i'll ever get any modification done just bcuz i dont care that much about my appearance as much as some others.Btw that guy took loving animals to a new level, props to him

I'm all for those.

Turning yourself into a parrot, boob jobs, and even basic tattoos and piercings...not for me.

When I read "human modification", I was thinking about weird sci-fi stuff, like genetic mutations and cyborgs, or human transmutations like in FMA, not plastic surgery o.O

"Modification" sounds cool than plain ol' "surgery". Surgery has a miserable connotation to it, as though it's undesirable and unpleasant.

It's 2 words with similar meanings. plastic surgery is most commonly used to increase the size of breasts to my understanding

Well human modification could be anything from you don't like your eyebrow, nose, arm length, and etc. It doesn't really have to be like the guy in the link. And I'm sure they have some drug or something in use while they operate on you so you won't feel a thing

That dude may be a little crazy, but modifying yourself, for yourself (as long as you don't go overboard) is perfectly acceptable. Everyone has those few things they are self conscious of and to be able to get rid of that 'flaw' in their eyes can really be beneficial to that person. As technology improves stuff like this will become more and more common, which I think is pretty cool, but people definitely need someone to bring them back down to earth when they think they need to completely change themselves when in fact nothing is wrong with them.

like waxing your eyebrows too?? and no operations for me unless it's absolutely necessary lol too many things could go wrong imo not to mention not liking the results. I, myself, wouldn't wanna have surgery unless it's medically needed.

Nah, not really. Let's say you don't like the color of your natural hair/eyebrows, then you can modify that "body part"and make it into something else. Then there's also a lot of people who have their eyebrows grown thogeter and they don't like it, so some of them modify how it grows and removes some of it.

But keep in mind that there's a change the operation might fail and make you look even worse as a result of your modified body...

What the fuck is wrong with that guy? Am I the only one that questions his sanity? Getting bigger tits is one thing, but making yourself look like... That?

"Whatever they want to do" as some of you are saying "its their own body" this guy mutilated his face, you people are insane.
