Oooh, i've played a few RPG's on my android phone, I recomend to get Inotia 4, RPG machine knight and RPG End of Aspiration. You should get a few apps from KEMCO their really good at making RPG's for phones.

Okay, there are definitely not "very few good games" on android.

There are hundreds of them from ports of triple A older pc games updated in HD to original games to indies to emulators for every system ever made until 2000 plus DS and PSP. I know - I have two android handhelds and use them all the time D:

But on the topic of RPG´s: Baldur´s gate and icewind dale HD versions have both been ported to android. There is also the bards's tale, it costs a whopping 1 euro 75, is a great, 50 hours long PS2 RPG with lots of humour. Then there is the original chaos rings trilogy for android and IOS by square enix also quite nice. There is a good port of secret of mana, a HD version of The World Ends With You, a port of chrono trigger, ports of final fantasy 1 trough 6. There is also agarest: generation of war, a port of a Ps3/PC game that is a combination of strategy RPG and very, very ecchi dating sim with delicious yummie grillz :3

And there is exiles, a cool open world sci-fi rpg.

Off course I play this game with the (integrated, they're handhelds after all xD) controls, so I don't know how they play with a touchscreen, but they are cool games none the less. Off course there are many more android RPG´s,. these are just some good ones.

Don´t forget, anything for the nes, snes, gba, gbc, ds, ps1, megadrive, dos, amiga, msx, and most psp rpg´s can be played too.

Seconding this recommendation. Kemco has been around for a long time, and they have excelled at building a nice old school-style JRPG library for mobile platforms. They have, at my last count, roughly fifty different titles available, most of them $3.99 U.S., some of them a little more, some less (or free!). Their freebies, like Band of Monsters and End of Aspiration F, are a good place to start if you are interested in what they have to offer.
