Sunlight for vitamin D production and serotonin production. but you live in North Hemisphere and right now it's not as sunny.Sunlight in the morning for as long as you can with as much skin exposed and your eyes unshielded if you wear contacts or glasses take them off, can help with your circadian rhythm which can lead to better sleep at night if you avoid the blue spectrum of light before you go to sleep.

A decent diet with a good amount of seafood like oysters, clams, mussels and salmon are good for iodine, selenium, zinc, and whole bunch of minerals you need and Omega 3"s for brain health. Fresher is always better. Not overeating and drinking water when your thirsty, I think filtered water is better than tap unless you drink good well water.

Being outside and getting some fresh air is better than staying inside.

Swimming in cold water like 55-60 F cold for 10-30 minutes to induce Cold Thermogenesis (Has a bunch of benefits if you can handle the cold. I suggest researching it yourself to get an understanding about it.) On the flip side Saunas are also good.

Is writing therapeutic? I think you know the answer to this.

Doing things you like is usually always good.

Cultivating awareness of yourself by noticing when you get in your own way, noticing when your lying to yourself and identifying your own personal preferences and prejudices and simply questioning why could help.

Reading a book you like I think is better than forcing yourself to read a book you don't.

Exercise can be good but I think just a brief jog or something to that extent is good enough.

Exercise should fit the limits of the person. Be it an hour in the gym, running a couple of miles, or just a brisk walk in the evening or during your lunch break.

Eat a balanced diet.

Get some sunshine.
Spend time with friends doing something you all enjoy.

All of the above contribute to emotional health.

How do you excerise mentally?

Learn a new language.

I'm serious!

Btw, I agree with Dariamus. Eat well, sleep well, exercise, go out alone or with friends but go out (being locked inside the house increases depression).

When I'm home I like to read a book to keep my dark thoughts away.
