I use to read comics then the New 52 came out and pissed me off.

The new and last Wolverine movie is using Old Man Logan as their source material.

My last Marvel Comics subscription ended in 2014. I feel like the writers have exhausted most of the creative 'oomph' that got them through the '00s (and got turned into the Marvel movies). That, and their recent attempts to ... please certain unpleasable demographics have fallen so hilariously flat that I feel the comics are no longer worth my time, though their movies and Netflix series are lovely, and the older comics collections will always have a place with me.

I also stopped following DC Comics shortly after that attempt at a reboot. It was unnecessary, and I feel like it made a lot of the good stuff they achieved back in the Infinite Crisis period unviable.

Also included new horrible designs for characters and changed their personalities until they were a parody of themselves.

That's what I've been hearing. And the movie being rated R means it could happen.

Also bought World War Hulk and Deadpool vs Thanos.

Just wondering if anyone keeps up with American comics.

From DC, my favorite reads are Justice League, Batman and Detective comics, grayson, Martian Manhunter, and green Lantern

From Marvel, I really like the Invincible Iron Man, uncanny Inhumans, secret wars, uncanny avengers, and amazing spiderman

Harley Quinn from DC my local comic book store put back anything Harley Quinn related and as for Marvel well i collect the hard back grahpic novel collection...

i recommend reading some of the post convergence stuff. personally, the best in DC are grayson, martian manhunter, batman/robin eternal, and earth2 society.

superman/lois lane is pretty great, and so is Superman American Alien.

For Marvel: Red Wolf, Uncanny Inhumans, All New All Different Avengers, Silk, Spiderman (not Slott's amazing spiderman), Captain Marvel, Spiderwoman, and Totally Awesome Hulk.

Moon girl and Dinosaur got pretty bad, and amazing spiderman feels like a batman incorporated rip off

In the recent past, I have seen the first two trade paperbacks of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. I have not purchased them yet, but they are on my "consider buying" list. I expect that I'll find the comedy of this series to be entertaining.

I really didn't follow Marvel comics by much after 2004, but up until then I had more of a focus on the X-Men and related spinoff titles such as Generation X and New X-Men: Academy X. Being an old X-Men fan from my teen years back around 1980, it was kind of hard to give that up. The most recent comic I did try from Marvel was the new Ms Marvel, because I kind of liked the idea of a sort of reboot "legacy" character who wasn't your typical American teenager (Kamala Khan is the daughter of Pakistani muslim immigrants).

As for DC, I really didn't give them too much attention until old fave artists got their run on a couple of titles. John Byrne was tackling Jack Kirby's character, the demon Etrigan, in Blood Of the Demon; while Walt Simonson took on Orion, about Kirby's lead protagonist from the early 1970s New Gods series. I stopped when both titles were canceled, coming back only for comic master Neal Adams's Batman Odessey miniseries.

I realize now that most of the comics and storytelling trends in them have left me behind. I'm more of the flavor of the old "one-and-done" or short story arcs in the comics that I came of age with.

Love the latest Doctor Strange run and Daredevil is back to my liking.
Was reading some DC until the latest event crossover when I just lost interest. Budget has a lot to answer for

I'm super into Ms Marvel, the Kamala Khan run, I haven't read any Carol Danvers stuff... Also, Deadpool, Hawkeye, Spider-Gwen, in Marvel, though i'm looking into more titles..
In DC i've just started going into their comics and it's only Harley Quinn comics and Suicide Squad, which i didn't like...

There are heaps from other publishers but that's Marvel and DC.
