Has anyone ever abandon an account of theirs and found it years later?

I have a bunch of abandoned accounts, I'm sure I could still remember the password if I actually sought them out, but I don't. Sadly, my Quizilla account is dead, oh the woe, my old legacy.

Never really had this issue.

I've been using the same e-mail account since 98. If I try to sign up for a site I already have an account on, I usually get told, "e-mail account already in use." and have my username/password resent.

98?! Come off it :o

I've been using the same Hotmail account since before they were bought out by Microsoft.

Annoyed me to shit when they made you log in was it once a week or you lost the account. My main gmail account dates back to before it was open, which was, what, 2004~2005 early? But I lost my hotmail account around that log in thing, since sometimes back in the day I'd be away from the internet for awhile.

I nearly lost my account a couple of times

My wife's gmail account dates back to closed beta, I did not pick up a gmail account until around 2010, with a work appropriate name.

That reminds me, somewhere I have a eBay account from 96-97 chugging along. And a ICQ low number account. Good god, what a mess the internet is going to be in 50 years.

If we live that long.

Yahoo became absolutely retarded. If you don't log on for 3 months from THE SAME IP address or even randomly... then you have to answer your security questions even IF YOU KNOW YOUR PASSWORD.

I'm wondering how to get back 2 emails because of this bs. I didn't use my real info for the security questions... I mean that's just a stupid idea. But it was more stupid of me not writing them down.

NOT JUST THAT, YAHOO WONT LET YOU CHANGE YOUR SECURITY QUESTION ANSWERS. SO FOR MY OTHER YAHOO EMAIL, I CAN'T EVEN SET STUFF TO THE REAL INFO LOL

I found security questions to be very useful after it helped me get back control of my old fb account ^^ As for yahoo. i hate that you cant even make an account without needing to add a phone number. I mean cant expect EVERYONE to have a phone number always in use! Cause I dont... not where i live anyways. I personally only liked yahoo for their yahoo answers before they changed the whole layout and also cause everyone is quite stupid and rude on there.
