I have a simple question.

Do you think people should have the right to defend themselves against the police?

I'm not talking about a criminal fleeing the cops or shooting at the cops during a robbery. I'm talking about when a cop just runs up and grabs a person, like in the case of james blake, the tennis player or the way the cop was throwing that girl around in class I South Carolina.

What would you do?

If a cop suddenly throws you down and beat you and hurt you and you haven't done anything wrong you know you're innocent, would you take the beating or fight back?

And do you have the right to fight back ?

Also should the court grant people the right to defend themselves from police brutality? Right on people don't have that right.

uhn, off course they have that right! You have the right to defend against *anyone* who attacks you without valid reason, no matter if they´re police or not, because you always have the right to non-excess self defense!

Depends on the state.

I see 2 ways this would turn out for me.

Assuming I feel my life being threatened or enough bodily harm, I'd fight back and just deal with the consequences afterwards.
^ This is obviously not a smart idea

Or... Record the whole thing and defend as well as I can and just sue the guy later.

Of course, neither scenario might play out the way I want if there aren't any witnesses around. Wouldn't be the first time I've taken a beating from a cop. Though as an adult it would.

You do, but you need to keep in mind they are armed and so if you do fight back, you then might escalate the situation ( even though as you are saying, you did nothing wrong) and there is a chance you will then face deadly force.

Listen to the police instead of being a dumb bitch and getting my ass beat for it.

If the police attacked me it would be easy to sue them, like, are they even aloud to attack 13 year olds?

Yes they are allowed to attack and kill 13 year olds

Difficult. Now if you're getting raped on the side of the road and stuff and no one else is there like in that one episode of Medium I'd say yes, but generally I'd follow the directions of the police lest I face their combined wrath.

Yes, but you'd possibly get shot anyways. Mr. Policeman has diplomatic immunity and judges don't give two shits about anyone but themselves. So just bend over and take it like a good civilian.

The odds of you being shot by a cop are low. Look at any instance of a cop firing on a person and their hit rate is like 5%. They will go through an entire clip and not hit a damn thing.

The way I see it you should totally have the right to defend yourself. Cops are nothing but the same retarded human beings you encounter on a daily basis with the only difference being they have a uniform, badge, and a gun.

Define 'valid reason'

Sometimes its better to bend than to break...

They spray and pray. Kinda like the next chump husband trying to conceive a son to force his hypocritical views on. Sadly, the child will be genetically related to the milkman, a gym rat or some gang member. Cops become cops because they want the power. Just like them stinkin' judges. These people get paroxysms of ecstasy when they have control. Judges literally shoot off whenever they sign someone's life away. A cop gets overexcited when in a chase. Adrenaline mixed with confiscated drugs makes for an extremely dangerous person.

How hard is it for people to simply comply if you have an issue wait to the end to file the proper reports. That girl was told to leave the classroom and she refused giving the teacher attitude to the point they needed to call in the school security and when the cop told her leave she said no at that point how should they have removed her if she wasn't complying? At that point she's interfering with the education of the rest of the students.

As for people in general simply having the right attitude will save you so much time. Now if the cop tries to punch you in the face then yes but I don't really see that going on. Mostly it's people running away or just giving cops an attitude that end up in trouble.
