But, but you don't know that.

Take my word for it.

1) Do you do creative writing at times?

Yes. I've been writing since 2006. Fiction and lyrics, mainly.

2) Is creative writing important to you or not?

Extremely.

3) What are your opinions/views on writing prompts and picture prompts?

I can certainly see how they'd be useful, but I've never really dabbled in them.

Not true. Think of your voice...Hearing it, it often sounds stupid to you, but it sounds normal or even great to everyone else. My writing "feels" bad to me, but I know objectively that I'm a good writer.

lol, I'm the same way. I'll rewrite emails and forum posts numerous times just because they sound terrible when I read them. That said I've always had ideas in my head that I can never express properly regardless the medium I choose. I've wanted to take a writing class but finding time is often harder than expressing oneself.

I think its amazing. And the whole idea of creating a story is more deep than you think. Because, one can argue that life is just a story.

It's a fun hobby that none of your friends/family care about enough to read any of it. I have writer friends, and we fail to read each others stories all the time.

1) Do you do creative writing at times?
Yes.

2) Is creative writing important to you or not?
Somewhat - it is a hobby so if I don't have time for it I won't do it.

3) What are your opinions/views on writing prompts and picture prompts?
I think prompts are fun. They can be great for getting you started some days. On the NanoWriMo web-site they usually have threads just for prompts. Speaking of which, National Novel Writing Month is starting on November 1 (web-site is here: http://nanowrimo.org/).

Explain your opinion in great detail.

Bonus Questions:

1) Do you do creative writing at times?

2) Is creative writing important to you or not?

3) What are your opinions/views on writing prompts and picture prompts?

Enjoy!!!

1) I started writing freelance articles for zines, magazines, comics, poetry and fanfiction around 25-30 years ago. Now, I'm still writing fanfiction and also working on both stories of my own (novel length) and visual novels/games (of my own design) at the moment.

2) It's pretty much my lifeline at the moment due to various circumstances.

3) Never used them myself. I use the "create a movie in your head" routine while writing. I picture known actors in each characters roles and "watch" or "witness" the story unfold as I write it to Wordpad or paper. I usually write a story outline but more often than not it takes it's own direction while "watching" it on the screen in my head.

It is very relaxing. I do it now and then. I start with an idea/theme and try to wrap it around that. Sometimes, I write something that is actually very beneficial for myself. My last one I was writing about motivations and without providing a self-psychoanalysis, I had a "eureka!" moment about what I was doing wrong in my social interactions.

1) At times, I do. As described above :3.

2) It is pretty important to me. I only described one moment, but I'm often helped by using characters to act out ideas I have. I know it is very egocentric by how I described what I do, but I try to write about realistic character interactions even if it is a fantasy/school/space opera story.

3) I never used a writing prompt, but I have mentally prepared for it if I ever entered a competition. Some prompts can be very fun, but because I usually like writing about an idea (subtle symbolism is fun to plan) ------------- the prompt would have to be very interesting for me to stay focused.

Best of luck. If you ever share your work, it is nice hearing compliments, but if you want to improve you'd need to take a step away from friends that'll say how great everything you write is. I just have fun, so I stopped getting constructive criticism, but I always welcomed it. Don't feel too bogged down if someone slams your writing, xD...

Ever since writing far more than was required for an assignment in year 7 (it might have been year 8, I can never remember which) writing has been a part of my life, even if it took me years to really consider it a significant part of my life. My current relationship with it is that it's an ungodly pain in the arse, but I love it, nonetheless. It's probably incredibly frustrating to me, because there's this project I've been working on for years, that I've started over, time and time again. The good thing about that is that I now know the characters inside and out. The incredibly frustrating thing is the lack of progress, even if I think I might be getting somewhere with it, now.

1) Do you do creative writing at times?
"At times" is a very apt way of putting how I've been writing as of late.

2) Is creative writing important to you or not?
I'm pretty sure I've put across how important I view it. I'm serious enough about it that I wouldn't consider it merely a hobby. I'd probably say I'm an aspiring writer, since I would like to actually make it a career, someday, even if not my sole one. If I don't feel like writing, it would be very easy for me to just not write, and that could go on for a while, So, even if I may not be feeling it, I'll make an effort to write... At least, I used to do that. I'm trying to get back into that habit.

3) What are your opinions/views on writing prompts and picture prompts?
If they get people writing, they can't be bad. I don't personally use them, though.

I love creative writing. It's interesting what goes on in other people's imaginations and it's really cool to read the final product. Like WOW, someone did this! The simple fact that someone had the creativity to make something whether it be a story or Anything is simply amazing
Also I prefer reading creative writings over anything and everything I'm reading at school right now

Occasionally I dabble in creative writing. I was more into drawing but in high school my friend talked me into joining her writing club and I became more interesting in writing. though because of school and other stuff going on at home I never had much time for writing or drawing so I kind of just stopped. A couple of days ago though I started writing my own little story and my friend has offered to be my editor. I'm in college right now but I'm not quite sure about what I want to do. I definitely want to do something creative so i'm taking a break from drawing and started writing again. Hopefully it works out okay

I think writing and picture prompts are a good way to get the gears turning. It gets you thinking and helps you organize your writing. Before I started on my story, I often drew pictures of the characters and wrote down their life stories and personalities and sometimes drew scenes that I want to include into my story. It's helped me figure out the story line and come up with interesting stories and dialogue. For now, i'm mostly improvising but I know where i'm going.

1) Yes occasionally.

2) It's very useful. It's entertaining, an expression and can be therapeutic.

3) Whatever helps you write is all good.

1. no. I used to but I haven't the time, the attention span, or the creative mindset these days. What I do do though is write nonfiction content on certain subjects for work. In particular, I write about famous Danish designers and companies for one job, and do little blurbs on pet ownership related topics for emails for another.

2. Perplexingly, I don't value people's creative writing very much. Even when I did it, I made a far superior editor. It made me realize how much crap there is out there and how many people write stuff that's.... far less than satisfactory. I have respect for a good number of published fiction writers though, even there, there's a lot of terrible content.

3. Whatever works for you. Typically my ideas would form from questions or from a bunch of disparate ideas coalescing together. I still had issues with my own content though, and still view myself more as an editor, as I have a difficult time being passionate about writing and I often find myself with characters that really lack motivation or ways to get from one scene to the next.
