Me too.

Well, I must be trash, or a "pleb" because I like NGNL.

This thread is trash.

I don't know why some people go out of their way to troll popular anime all the time or their fans. I don't like OnePiece, but I don't constantly bring it up or tell people they are of less worth because they enjoy it. It's like those people that constantly bash on Naruto, DBZ, Bleach, etc. Are they masterpieces? Hell no, but they have a lot of fans for one reason or another.

If you want to discuss anime and why you think it has flaws, etc. Do it in the official discussion thread(s) please. But, also do it in a way where you don't come off sounding like a bitter wanker or someone with a superiority complex. The only person who can pull that off is Vegeta

On a side note, I will also say that if I stop liking a series I personally stop discussing it and commenting about it. It takes far too much energy to do so and I would rather talk about positive things and the things I do like for the most part.

Just my two cents. Take it or leave it.

Spoilers below, though I doubt you would be in this thread if you haven't already seen the show.

1. Considering there are multiple Gods, comparing him to a God in a monotheistic religion is dumb. Tet isn't omniscient he is simply the God of play or games or whatever title they game him it's been a while since I've watched the series. As for the second part, Shiro has beaten computer programs meant to beat Gamemasters 20 times in a row switching between going first and second (as they say in the show), but you're forgetting that Sora also helps her play. He pointed out that it's not a program, and Sora is a master at reading people and anticipating their choices. Hence why someone of amazing or even lesser skill couldn't beat them. They both take care of what the other can't. Shiro keeps saying it's like ti-tac-to because for her chess is as simple as tic-tac-to. It doesn't matter how large the tree is if you have them all memorized. Which she does.

2. Sora automatically assumed that the game was chess. And Clamy explains that it isn't normal chess, the pieces have wills of their own, you simply have to tell them what to do. Sora and Shiro were the ones that jumped to the conclusion that this only meant the pieces moved on their own. So yes, she explained the rules, they misunderstood the rules. As for the rest of the rambling you did in this section, again, the pieces have their own will and will do as they are told. How would they do as they are told if they couldn't understand what they are being told? Come on now, don't be silly. And he doesn't know that any of the stuff he does will work, he takes a shot (cause why not?) and it works, so he continues. The pieces are powered by magic, which humans have no ability to use, therefore it's natural that neither Clamy nor Blank fully understand how the pieces would react to different stimulus.

3. Picking a biased street wasn't based on luck. An area with a specific kind of stores is bound to have a higher ratio of a certain gender than the other, that's just simple logic. He doesn't need to know the path of every person to go with the higher probability choice and therefore get it right, is he guranteed to get it right? Of course not, but he does. Simple as that. Even a game such as rock paper scissors isn't entirely luck based. There are studies out there they show certain types of people prefer to throw certain hands, for example Males are more likely to throw rock first than females. Considering how good Sora is at understanding people and manipulating Steph, he could easily have won at RPS, oh wait, he did, because they played it back in the hotel when they first met (technically they tied but that was the outcome that Sora wanted, so he wins.) And at the end of the series he challenges the Shrine Maiden to a simple coin flip and again, gets the result he wanted, a tie. He is good at manipulation, that's what he does. as for the last bit about cutting off limbs, I'm starting to get the feeling you didn't even pay attention to anything... One of the 10 rules is that violence is prohibited... Sigh...

4.He simply summoned the Hydrogen Bomb, there was no reason for it to explode, not to mention his opponent isn't human, you have no idea what her eyes are capable of, not to mention she can control magic. I mean, she has no idea what a Hydrogen bomb is yet she realizes that it's dangerous and defends herself as well as the others from it, THAT should be your issue here if anything. If we're going by the logic of "he would have dematerialized" then Jibril would also have dematerialized and no one would have won the game, so one could assume that the game wouldn't allow that to happen because it would end in a tie. Really? Spacesuits? you realize all of them would have been given space suits right? And the hormone things, again, she isn't human, he knows nothing about what makes up her body, also he would have killed Shiro and he would never have done that to her (or steph, maybe...).

I feel like you spent more time trying to find things wrong with the show than actually trying to enjoy the show, which is a pity because it was a damn good show, despite what PV says.

That's way too much to sit here and proofread so forgive me for any spelling errors or anything else I screwed up.

Don't understand the hate for the OP so much, even with mistakes.

Given there are elements of magic in it, I think everyone knows they very well can, "make it up as they go." They made that clear during many moments (the live-chess and the word game). It is suppose to all be "fun" and not a profound writing masterpiece. It was a "fine" show, but the main characters both had a little bit of Kirito in them. Rather, they were probably closer to Shiba Tatsuya + Miyuki. The audience was just expected to accept whatever they did, lol.

I thought NGNL was okay. Not a masterpiece, not "absolute trash", just okay. There's plenty of worse shows that are far more otaku-centric in nature.

I did not enjoy ngl at all either, the mains do not seem smart at all, infarct they feel dumb to me. The only reason why they win is because everything is written around for them to win.... they have the power of the writer on their sides which trumps all super powers....

The connect words game was really dumb, you don't even have to go pass the first move to know why.... In ngl she is described as "loves knowledge" yet she show no sign of any basic knowledge, okay so in 5th grade you gain the knowledge of matter and atoms and what not.... oh look she lacks knowledge of a 5th grader.... what else did she do? oh that is right when he dropped the bomb he shielded herself and won.... oh wait she protected her opponent too? A ngl fan would say oh she did that because of X, well I call that sandbagging (intentional under performance)... How was that not sandbagging? I don't care what her reason was, it was sandbagging... oh wow he beat a sandbagger that doesn't even have the knowledge of a 5th grader, is that suppose to impress me? to me that just showed how weak the writing was.

So you can like it but please stop saying because it is deep and that the story is well written.... The thing is, this is just one example of the many times the show does this.... the opponent's super power is just words and fake, who cares if you can "read minds" (oh wait they can't even do that...) when the MC can calculate a game environment equivalent to Lieutenant Commander data lol.

I mean if you do enjoy it there is nothing wrong with that, but I did not because of the reasons above... I just felt so fake that I stop caring to hear the lies they told me....

The whole point of this show is to pit the main characters against impossible odds and to see them triumph, that's where all the satisfying scenes come from. Given the nature of this set-up, the creators came up with some pretty creative solutions to the problems faced by Shiro and Sora. The last thing you should be doing is pointing out the "inaccuracies", this show draws it's intelligence from it's creativity, not its factuality.

You forget the most important thing, which is that this series exists only for the purpose of sharing Our Lady Jibril.

Not at all.

Looks 19.

Doesn't behave like she's a child.

Is noble in spirit.

The exact opposite of a loli.

Tablets are shiny.

She probably saw herself on the screen.

That's a perfectly understandable response to seeing Our Lady Jibril.
