I don't hate people...I just feel better when they're not around.

No, I love being around and making new friends. When it comes to politics though, that's when the stupidity of society really shines.

I prefer solitude, yes, but I'm not a big enough dick to dislike people over their species. I'm not self-depreciating enough, too.

Depends on my mood. Right now I'm not, but when I'm angry or depressed, I generally start getting bitter about humanity as a whole.

Yes, due to personal experience. That's all there is to say. // https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=if9NetXAI-o // <3

No. I continue to have faith in humankind, to love it dearly. It's all I can do. What good does it do me to respond to tragedy and misery by giving in to despair and coming to loathe my own kind? How does that make things better?

From the perspective of someone who does not merely avoid and distrust humanity, but who actively seeks its annihilation, perhaps it is the point that things aren't made better by one's misanthropy. Still, that doesn't really answer the "why" of seeking humanity's suffering or annihilation, and merely pointing to one's hatred of humankind is insufficient to answer that question. If such a misanthrope were correct about humanity's ultimate evil and worthlessness we'd end up in the same place whether we actively sought its destruction and misery or whether we sought to try to correct its errors. Why, then, should we bother skipping to humankind's destruction rather than allowing it to come about naturally? Why shouldn't we keep trying until we can't anymore and destroy ourselves, proving the misanthrope right about our inadequacy and satisfying his aim?

That's what I'm trying to get my head around.

Misanthrophy is about hating the collective, not seeking its annihilation.
Keep trying whatever the f you're doing.

It's quite possible that people like human nature, in essence like humans, but the sub-human or inhumane acts that we exhibit that are more akin to being a parasite and having vehement tendencies, is what people dislike or hate. Which at the end of the day is merely semantics but I think these characteristics are what people dislike/hate.

Or even perhaps what people hate about others is misunderstandings, moralistic judgement, expectations, being questioned, lack of attentiveness in conversations, past experiences, entitlement being projected onto them, and a whole lot more. basically feeling some sort of bondage and a lack of freedom in expression.

I like humanity we're still kinda funny and enjoyable to watch, and this is coming from a mostly reclusive kid if that means anything.

I used to love being around people, but as I get older I become more and more antisocial.

i don't think humanity cares if someone is a misanthrope or not. maybe someone on cr wants to know if you are one but at the end of the day you're going to die, alone.
