Exactly yes. What I mean is that the OP sounds a bit like he is talking about caffeine powder and with that the dosage is very easy to get wrong, especially since many people don't realize that the reason why caffeine in coffee or tea is mostly harmless is because there is only milligrams of it in there. When you take a little spoon of caffeine you're already way above that.

Well, the OP would still have to take about twenty pills to reach toxic levels. Probably through a needle for it to not get voided reflexively.

Main issue is really just taking so much that the body develops tolerance - at some point there will only be a placebo effect. Toxicity and addiction are sort of non-factors with caffeine. Those are issues with drugs like alcohol.

I'd say a substance that is lethal at a dosage of only a few grams is certainly toxic.
Sure no drink contains that much, but there is pure powder available on the net to buy. People have died from making the mistake of underestimating the effect of that stuff. A small spoon of it can put you at a great risk already. A bigger spoon and you're straight on your way to the graveyard.

I take 100mg pills

Also caffeine is poisonous but so are many things which are good for you.

I have a high natural tolerance to caffeine kind of like Alcohol i have never been drunk because i have an insanely high tolerance.

For me caffeine stops me from sleeping, it doesn't give me any kind of boost or energy just stops sleeping.

Anything in large amounts over long periods is bad for you though I've been told tomatoes are the only thing you can eat continuously without side effects

It may be different for me since i have Aspergers which means my senses are extremely hightened and my brain is slightly developed differently.

To me i get an energy boost and a feeling of happiness and feel like i'm not stressed for the first time in a long time.

IT also helps me remember things and learn and also helps me with critical thinking.

High doses of caffeine don't give a comfortable buzz. They just make you uncomfortable and restless. Caffeine is a natural poison made by plants to repel insects, so you sure can OD on it. 500mg is pretty much where I max out and I try not to go that far. And I have tolerance. Having too much is bad for your heart and can kill you. This is why Monster labels tell you not to drink cans back-to-back. It can kill you and people have died from having energy drinks. It didn't take very many to kill them, either.

Yeah, so if you have average or low tolerance, it's probably a bad idea to suddenly decide to have 500mg one day for fun. You'll feel bad more than good.

I drink several cups of black coffee on work days, up to 8, maybe even 10. On regular off days, I only have 2. I also have 200mg sustained release capsules that last 8 hours each but those are for days that I can't access coffee. I'm only around 140 pounds at the moment and it took time to build up this tolerance.

Take in mind i suffer from Aspergers syndrome so my senses are heightned to an EXTREME level so that weak high is like a normal high to me.

600mg is the most i have taken and refuse to take anymore. (label says 600mg is max)

Caffeine is a poison but poisons have health benefits in moderate uses due to my high tolerance of caffeine (natural not gained over time) it takes 400mg to impact me in the slightest (i could have 100-300mg and not feel a thing.

I must say i enjoy the buzz it makes me feel SUPER comfortable which is why i like it.

All in all i felt amazing and don't feel bad after having 550mg in one 24 hour cycle.

That being said i don't plan to do this everyday / week

Addiction is a hell of a bad thing.... which is why i only really use caffeine on rare occasions.

Fair play, if it makes you feel relaxed and helps you remember it can't be any worse than alcohol is for your health at the end of the day.

Within the safe parameters

400-600mg is safe (According to doctors and the pills i use)

It's no different from someone having 4-6 coffees a day which alot of people do.

Moderate depends on how tolerant your body is towards caffeine if your easily impacted 100mg will easily benefit you.

It's only when you get past 500mg that you get bad side effects instead of just the good ones.

I may be wrong but thats what my research has led me to.

I have never been really affected by caffeine ever unless its 400mg+

I only take 400mg because anything under that does nothing to me and why take a stimulant if it does nothing?

For me to reap the benefits of Caffeine (alertness better memory and thinking etc) i require 400mg otherwise my body has to much of a natural tolerance towards it that it does nothing and i want it to do SOMETHING

but if you know how to make it so i can reap the benefits without taking so much.....i'm all ears

For me, taking a lot of caffeine consistently (4-6 cups of coffee daily is A LOT) would probably do me no good as I'll probably develop hypertension at a later age (genetics). So to consistently increase by blood pressure is probably not the best idea.

My daily consumption is probably around 120mg/day, which comes from teas.

Lethal dose is enormous (150-200 mg drug/kg body mass) so no worries about that.

Also, a lot of caffeine makes me piss every 30 minutes.

My daily consumption is like 20-30mg a day and once a fortnight or week 400-500mg.

Maybe it's just different to us all based on our tolerance? kind of like how some people can drink more alcohol then others before negative effects start?

I dunno but i aree 4-6 cups daily is A LOT that's why i only do it every once in a while ...moderation on these kinds of things it's like how once or twice a year i have 300-400 grams of sugar in a day (whilst at the movies) it's something i would not do daily in any stretch of the imagination.

MY blood pressure is usually low so im lucky i guess and my genetics are good... but that 120mg impacts you?
if so....i'm jealous of you i really am

Also yeah the lethal dose is like 100 pills iirc but you arn't wrong it is alot but you know every now and again can't hurt (Atleast i believe that)

Edit: saw your piss comment ....holy crap caffeine impacts you hard! i wish i could be like that ....atleast not the pissing part XD

Usually, coffee(or caffeine) doesn't really seem to have any noticeable effect on me. But I do have noticed a situation though where it does seem to. When I have the flu.

Actually, the effect is clear enough that if there's generally a flu going around, and I get strange vibes from only a few cups of coffee, I pretty much know what to expect the coming week...

Well, if it works for you, you're lucky. Caffeine no longer does anything for me unless I have over 200mg. I need a cup of black coffee every morning. I take it ice cold with no sugar or creamer to drink it down quickly.

Lots of problems with that. First of all, most people need stupidly large amounts of caffeine to really get "high" (if you can even call it that). Secondly, if you consume caffeine regularly, whether through tea, coffee, or capsules, you build a tolerance, thereby lessening the effects even more. Also, if you consume it irregularly at long intervals (and importantly, IN MODERATION), there is some evidence that it temporarily boosts concentration- so why would I want to have so much that I lose that benefit?
