So I've been rewatching Log Horizon, and it got me thinking "Whats the closest MMORPG to Elder Tales?" So like any good Millennial, I searched the internet... and people kept saying stuff like WoW or Guild Wars... but surely there's something closer, something that matches 9/10 classes, the crafting system, is around lvl 90 limit... And do you know what I found, what no one mentioned anywhere on forums looking into stuff like Log Horizon?

Everquest 2.

I Mean just look at its classes:

Notice that other than the Japan special classes Samurai/Shrine Maiden that most of the classes are covered as a class or a subdivision of classes

And the numerous races seemed to cover well enough as well (Other than the Japanese specific ones Fox and half-alv, which probably meant half-elf):

Anyone else agree with me?

Oh, and they also refer to players as "Adventurers"...
and here's the crafting system which is admittedly less close:

It seems like most Current PC MMORPGs are near the end of their graphic's life-span, except maybe Lord Of The Rings Online, which I did enjoy for a bit... (but can't login to due to not having the Email associated with my account anymore)... I won't say the formula is dead, but it seems like it's fiscally dead, with none of the forms really working (F2P, B2P, P2P) in my mind.....

Gave Everquest 2 a longer chance, and it's actually pretty cool, Definitely more complicated than lord of the rings online, and the guardian class has pretty useful abilities... I suggest giving it a try long enough to get to level 10.....

Oh and it's apparently completely free up to it''s 7th expansion, though I think you can still level to current max

I should mention that it's from around the same time that WoW started (2004), it probably hasn't aged well, and that they have "Everquest Next" in a closed beta that will probably be more relevant to our decade
