i would say Voltes V....circa 1977


everytime i hear their theme song in my head .... the hair behind my neck goes up ... it sure was tacky but hey I was a kid...I remember singing along , i remembered recording the show with a tape recorder which i received as a birthday present and listening to the opening song and writing down the Japanese lyrics phoneticaly

An untitled one from 1907. If I remember correctly it was of a school boy writing the Japanese phrase for "motion picture" on a chalkboard then bowing to the audience. Can't remember where on the internet exactly I saw it.

Edit: Google Katsudô Shashin to find out what I am talking about.

The Rose of Versailles for sure, which originally ran in 1979. Probably the next oldest I've seen is Laputa: Castle in the Sky from 1986 I believe. But Miyazaki films always feel very recent to me, to me it seems more like a 90s anime. I've also seen a fair few episodes of Lupin III... but I didn't watch it regularly, definitely didn't finish it-- so I don't know if I should count it or not. But depending on what episodes numbers I saw, it might be the oldest of all the animes I've named, since it ran for so long. All of these were pretty good animes.

For me I would have to say Lupin The 3rd possibly back in the 90's era of anime
