Rose of Versailles, ran from 1979-1980 (based on the manga which started in 1972) and it's also the oldest shojo anime I've seen. It's also one of the first of the yuri genre to exist.

Just in age it would be Speed Racer, but I didn't know anything about anime at the time. The oldest anime I watched when I knew it was anime was probably SDF Macross.
