In 400 years from now, in the 25th century, how will be the work of a historian?

The research about the past before the 20th century will probably not be very different of the way the research is done today.

But how the historian of the 25th century will research the history from the 20th century onwards?

Will it be SUPER EASY to determine the details of facts that happened 400 years early?

How the internet will be used in the research? Will the internet become a primary source? How will they know what are true facts, and what is just trolling? For example: if someone posts a thread in 2015 saying that a Big Foot was spotted near his town, will a historian from the future take this Big Foot story as true?

Will videos be widely used on research?

How you imagine it will be?

What scenario would have nukes being used on a large scale enough to wipe out humanity.

Considering this is the most peaceful time in human history and no government is crazy enough to start world war 3 I think were gonna be fine. Now a terrorist organization might detonate a small scale suitcase nuke but enough nukes to go off to wipe out the majority of humanity thats not gonna happen.

They would note how socialist ideology and governments all over spent and eventually collapsed upon themselves. The resulting economic turmoil created prime conditions for dictators to consolidate power and overthrow democracies promising jobs and economic prosperity. They did so by building a massive industrial complex to manufacture weapons and prepare for war. Eventually once they believed they had enough power they attacked their neighbors and began expanding. The remaining democracies of the world banded together to fight them.

It would look like the 20th and 19th century but with different government types causing the same problems that always plague humanity.

Don't try to predict the future, you can never guess correctly, look at 'Back to the future' thought of. For all we know, civilization could be back to fighting with sticks and stones in the 25th century.

If the last generation to die of old age has not already been born, it will be soon.

What we consider current events will remain within living memory for a very, very long time.

On several different vectors. They only questions are, which will come first and how will the ethical issues be resolved.

Mind Uploading and slowing/stopping the aging process are both predicted to practical technologies in the next 30 - 50 years. Even if I don't live to too see it, odds are my children will.

I hope I don't live to see it. Immortality would only benefit the elite. If your a working stiff and still have to work to pay bills immortality is merely a new slavery.
