I'm actually curious has Nelson Mandela actually directly said "racist" ever?

"Racism is a blight on the human conscience. The idea that any people can be inferior to another, to the point where those who consider themselves superior define and treat the rest as sub-human, denies the humanity even of those who elevate themselves to the status of gods."

"We are extricating ourselves from a system that insulted our common humanity by dividing us from one another on the basis of race and setting us against each other as oppressed and oppressor. That system committed a crime against humanity."

"During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die."

I'm sure he's mentioned the word in private conversations with others as well and that there are other quotations of his that include it.

Isn't the title of this topic in itself somewhat racist?

No because "Australian" is not a race.

Sorry... Pet peeve. Calling people "racist" for not actually hating on a race, and calling someone a bigot for something not related to bigotry, and similar types of name calling really irritate me.

It's like admitting someone is really just a dumb fuckwit who doesn't understand what it is themselves that they're accusing someone of, and probably didn't even listen or care about what was being said to provoke the comment.

"I don't care for Hilary Clinton as president. Her foreign policy is weak."
"You're racist!"
"You're a fuckwit."

Technically there are only like what three races?

Asian
Black
White

But then again i'm not sure if you would class UK , US and Australians as all the same race.

I more worried about religion as oppsed to race to be honest.
Muslims just cannot fit in to the Australian way of life, overall i mean.

Some of these Africans worry me a little also, becasue of how life is where they are from ( murder, rape, child brides, etc)

Where as these days Aussies are rasied to be pussies. (everything is racist/policital corrcetness, no one fails, everybody is a winner, everything is harassment and offensive, gay rights, women power, etc)

I have a few Australian friends, they are just generally offensive people by nature, weird part is they mean nothing by it. The fucking wankers... No seriously though, if they take it too far we would have words.

ha ha funny that you say that. I reckon its true, we by nature , or how we are raised, we are fairly care free and we're laid back and we dont really take offense.
Its pretty natural for us to take the piss. We take the piss and can have a laugh.
We can take a joke and take the piss out of ourselves.
Some people dont uinderstand our humor.
We may come across as racist or offensive or bogan but its just us having a joke.
We swear alot, drink alot, etc
I have a Russian freind and he struggles to understand how we are. He gets offended when he shouldn't and is always like "in Russia this and in Russia that" And even has said that only Australians act in certain ways in his gaming guild.
We pay each other out and rough house alot.
Its like in the cricket, some see us as aggressive and having poor sportsmanship and that but its just normal to us.

She'll be right mate.

I guess it`s just a cultural thing. I mean in no way is it an excuse, however it`s just something to expect. Like seeing misogyny in the Middle East.

Haha. That happened to me and my family down by Salt Lake City, some Caucasian child pointed us out and was like "Chinese People!"
I Was like: "Daym, little girl!" I mean she was just a kid it`s cool.

I wasn`t being sarcastic, lol. I truly meant it, haha. It`s cool, MrAnimeSk. Hard to interpret the feelings of someone`s text, I get it.

ha ha
For real though my mum was a nurse and she told me she saw an Asian person and was like " i couldn't help but stare" and said she didn't mean to be rude, but she'd never seen one in person before.
Hard to believe.

But i mean me growing up it was just Italians and Geeks then all of a sudden it was Asians.
Got used to that (i have had and do have alot of Asian friends, school and work), then it was all of a sudden all these Indians and Africans and Arabs.
Australia has changed so quickly!
Always been Europeans and i been used to Asians i mean we part of Asia pretty much but now its like American tv shows with all the Africans and now its like Euroupe with all the Arabs.

Funny as a kid i didn't like Asians, i liked the movie Romper Stomper but then i had lots of Asian friends and liked anime and Asian girls and Asian food. Funny.

At least Asians eat pork and drink booze and their girls dont be all covered up n shit, and not crazy religious!
I mean i drink an BBQ with yall.

I know this may seem picky but I was asking if he had ever used the word "racist" not "racism", I know racism kind of implicates someone being a 'racist' but he certainty wasn't from what I can see going around calling people "racist".

If Apartheid was an undeniably racist system, its supporters were thereby directly linked with racism. He might not of called people racist, but that doesn't mean that he didn't consider a racial supremacist to be such.

Even then, this is all irrelevant. The point of my post was to point out the absurdity of the initial post I quoted when first beginning to discuss this. If Nelson Mandela had called out a supporter of Apartheid as racist, would his message have been undermined? If he had done so, should he be deemed a racist himself?

I will admit, however, that (if you want to look at it from a technical point of view) my post could have been more historically accurate.

Dunno how to explain why we have so many racist bogans, though.

..So you were upset until you realized he lives in the same country as you?

Ah, people logic.

You are correct. I know it makes no sense, but that's feelings for you, not worth having.
