In this thread, I want to talk about an interesting vehicle called the Plymouth Prowler. Personally, I think it looks cool and unique.

It even had the option of an additional custom trailer.

What do you think of the car? Do you think it looks cool? Does it look like something you would want to drive/own?

Cool looking car....

One of the very few Chrysler cars I would ever think of owning.

Have had nothing but bad luck with Chryslers. They want about $10000 too much for them around here.

It looks cool. Not really as original as you'd think. And wile i do think it looks cool compared to about 98% of all the current "modern" cars. It doesn't come close to the original hot rod roadsters imho.

Cars like This 1933 Ford Roadster

Or this 1933 Speed hot rod Roadster

Those are just 2 examples of the thousands of roadster hot rods out there that gone before this Plymouth. And while the Prowler is "retro styled" it just doesn't give off the same feelings as the real roadsters imo.

Though with an average MSRP of only 40K it's a bit cheaper then a real roadster so it does have that going for it :D.

The Plymouth Prowler is the only stock vehicle that was ever made with front fenders that move with the wheels. It was one of the last designs built before Daimler took over Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Eagle/Plymouth and did their best to run it into the ground. In real life, this car has limited room in the cabin and would only be comfortable to drive if you are thin and of average height. It was designed to resemble the hot rods that enthusiasts have been making ever since the Model T, as shown by Hardba11er. When the top is up it resembles a chopped top (roof that has been lowered) like the one in Hardba11er's second photo - hence the reason why I said you don't want to be too tall. Also the seats only go back so far. Trailers can be made to match any vehicle - those were made by after market companies and many people who do the car show circuit have similar trailers.

Unfortunately at this point the Prowler is an orphan vehicle - meaning that Plymouth is no longer around. You can still get parts via Mopar and after market, but this really isn't a vehicle for a daily driver. It was pretty much always something for the show circuit.

Like most cars, there is a club of people who collect them and admire them. You can find it at this link: http://www.prowleronline.com/

Sorriest excuse for a roadster ever conceived.

Looks like one of those wooden cars we used to make back in the day for scouts for track competitions. Had to have a certain weight and measurements.

That being said, I'll never own a Chrysler. Not a fan of a single car they've ever made. Overpriced as well.

Tesla is faster than practically every car in its class it keeps up with Ferrari and Lamborghini. Not to bad for a four door family sedan.

True but I have to agree with with the fact it feels slightly wrong to have so little response from the vehicle. I grew up with the 71 charger my Dad drove, indeed it became my hand me down car when I got my new driver's license. And after that hemi engine and steering response everything else just felt wrong.

You know. It could go 200mhp for all i care. I still can't drive it faster then 80mhp if i want to keep my license lmao. So top speed really doesn't matter unless you are a 100% circuit driver which we aren't of course.

I've always loved that funny thing. This car has this top speed so yeah. Who cares what it's top speed is really. You can't drive it if you wanted to. So if you can't use the speed well then i care more about the looks and feel of the car. I'd drive a '76 Firebird or '33 Ford roadster over a Tesla any day. Hell if i'm really honest i'd rather drive a VW barndoor over a Tesla

I don't know how hard a Tesla goes. I was just using a generic number as an example mate :)

Edit: seems Tesla tops out at 155mhp. Still 75mhp of that i can't use haha.
