Well, this is certainly exciting news for anime fans.

I wonder if they'll give the creators free reign to do what they want with the show, provided that it's entertaining.

Or if they'll use a heavy handed approach, and tell the developers to make the show suited towards say, a Western audience.

I hope this helps the anime creators find funding for shows that did okay in dvd sales, but not enough to warrant funding for another season of the show. It would be nice to see more variety again, rather than shows that are all about the moe and harems.

Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with those. But it's like Hollywood and how all they seem to come out with is sequels, reboots, and superhero movies. Because that's all that seems to make money nowadays. I'm sure anime is suffering the same situation as well.

I would hope to see a few series that were more popular in the West than Japan rebooted.

Anyone mind if I root for a rebooted Rosario + Vampire that follows the manga?

Agreed on both counts. Well more Rosario & Vampire since I never read the manga.

Love Netflix Originals. From what I hear from interviews with those who have directed/produced/etc Netflix Originals, they get a lot of creative freedom, which usually leads to some really good series.

Also, series and movies have been brought back to the dead thanks to Netflix (Wet Hot American Summer, Arrested Development) so could be interesting if Netflix produced a 2nd season of a popular series that no studio in Japan thought would work, but many fans would want.

While Tsukune's relationship with the girls stays about the same, the manga becomes far more action orientated just after the point the anime ended. It also starts to incorporate some much darker themes.

sounds awesome however a anime not made in japan is literally just a anime inspired cartoon. Joking aside this is good news for helping anime succeed more in the west.

Okay thanks for that. Not sure I need darker anime though. I did see a fan made trailer (on Youtube) for 3rd Capu that implied a lot darker themes. And just looked for it and can't find it.

The real question I wonder if if they will "make anime" as in their original content or adapt previous existing works? I'm thinking of the former.

The girls stay as cute and funny as always, but they wind up in a lot of very serious fights. Tsukune undergoes massive character development.

That is a very good question. While I would love to see production shows popular in the US, but not in Japan (Think Big-O by Cartoon Network); I am thinking it will be all new content.

You are probably right, but I am hoping for the latter. There are a lot of good existing works that need anime adaption.

If the quality is high, we win either way.

Yeah, but my life is bleak and dark as it is. I need more cute and funny than more darkness.

Maybe we can get that yandere harem anime made now.

Or pitch ideas for shows to Netflix.
