Last time I pre-ordered was star craft 2.
The store closed down before it was released and I lost interest by then anyway.

I need to see real gameplay or a review first, Bethesda made rpgs are the exceptions because I know I will like them.

Last time I pre-ordered a game, it was WoW Burning Crusade.

Nope. I learned the hard way that it's best to wait for the sales.

I stopped pre-ordering when I stopped raiding in EQ.

I don't have the time to invest in serious gaming these days, most games are usually out a month or two before I have both the time and money. That, and I would usually prefer spending the $50 taking my wife out to dinner.

Yes, it really depends which one... ^_^;; I usually pre-order JRPGs that I know I'll play right away, and if they do offer a nice collector's edition then it's fine too. I never pre-ordered action games... FFXV might change that... lol

Eh... Depends. Preorder culture is harmful, but I do have a select few developers that I consider trustworthy and skilled enough to produce content that I feel fine with preordering. For example, I have no qualms with preordering a game from Atlus.

I buy them on the day - only because the games I want aren't on pre-order through steam for some reason. eg. Age of Empires 2: the african kingdoms

Depends on who made the game... if it's Bethesda Game Studios... do it now...

Depends on the perks that they are offering. Being able to preload is pretty convenient feature as well as head start...care nothing for cosmetic items though.

I view pre-ordering as harmful and refuse to encourage that business practice. So I have never, ever pre-ordered a game. I usually watch a bit of a let's play. Then, I decide whether or not to buy it.

Depends on the game, but I do pre-order a lot, especially for bonus content.

I used to pre-order games all the time but now, I will only pre-order if it's a niche game like certain JRPGs. A major reason I don't care to pre-order now is due to the backlog of games I have. No sense in getting a new game on day 1 at full price when I won't be playing it right away anyway.

I don't buy any games. I don't like them since you pay a great deal of money for them but unless you're really good most of it stays locked.

Can you imagine if other forms of media did? If you were halfway reading a book but then you had to complete a quiz on the main themes of the book, and if you didn't pass the rest of the book stayed locked.

Or if you were listening to a CD but if you couldn't do a really good dance then the last tracks on the CD would stay locked.
