Well actually, polygamy is looked down on by most people, in the world. Humans form a codependent bond with a partner when they've fallen in love with them- here's a link (it's by the same guy that made the other video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDMwpVUhxAo.

So, basically, people can love just one other person for their entire life, even past fertility. It isn't the surprising that if the other person isn't as devoted to their bf/gf as they are to them, it will make them angry and jealous (for that person). You can ask yourself how you would feel sharing your significant other with somebody else, or not receiving his/her full attention (romantically).

That being said, polygamy is very healthy for genetic diversity; genetic diversity being a driving factor in the survival of species. There are people whom accept polygamy, all though the majority doesn't. People that get rejected, left by their SO, or their SO dies often move on and some are able to accept new partners. Some people may be against monogamy because they feel restricted, and tied down. My guess is that most people say that they're okay with it, but have naturally sexual instinct which favors polygamy; it's also possible that they don't really love their SO and find it frightening to be bound to them.

"Nature" isn't a thing in the first place. Say whatever you want about absolutely anything being human nature: if there is one person for whom that doesn't apply, then the statement is false. Everything we've adopted as a species and as countless cultures thereof has been the result of a desire on our parts. There's absolutely no reason to think that process is unnatural. It's trendy in psychology to overemphasize the subconscious part of our thinking; isn't it hypocritical to think that conscious thought isn't important?

My point is that anyone who wants to say one way of doing things is more "natural" than another is full of it. If it was natural to act in a certain way, why would some people need to be told to do so? Nature is what is. It shouldn't be a buzzword that people throw around to shame others into doing things their way. If human nature exists at all, it can only be defined in the vaguest, least informative way, precisely because if something is human nature, then by definition, we all already do it, and it's so intrinsic to our functioning that we take it as a matter of course. "X is human nature." is always either untrue or meaningless.

While I prefer monogamy over polygamy any day, I didn't see any comments like that, at least in my perspective.

To each their own~ I can't really have an opinion on anyone else's love/sex life.
But if you're not swinging for me, then you're not gonna swing with me~ if you catch my drift...

Programmed, not programmed, natural, not natural, etc. Those are just words.
Why live a life where they define the parts that make living so technical~?! ། ﹒︣ ‸ ﹒︣ །

Marriage is between one man and one woman. The muslims practice polygamy and it should be banned in all western countries. Polygamy might also be endorsed by some stupid liberals.

If humans were meant to be monogamous, we wouldn't have sexual thoughts about sleeping with others once we found a committed partner. Same with adults not wanting to sleep with teenagers; If there wasn't some appeal, whether that be from the standing of fertility or increased libido, this would not be a fantasy that both men and women have.

TBH, I don't think most people care about the relationships of others. The only people who really seem to take note are the religious extreme, who seem to feel that it's their inherent right to weigh in to every matter of every thing. This is not an American thing; Every country has their own version of the morality police, and some resort to violence over such things as holding hands in public.

If you're monogamous, great. If you're into polygamy, fine. As long as you're a responsible adult and don't force me to watch you suck face in public, I don't care.
