Well actually no it's not. It's called Detective Conan (originally Mentantei Conan). Case Closed was the name given with the North American localization, and I believe had to do with licensing problems between Aoyama and FUNimation. This would be the reason that all the American names were a thing. ... A horrible, horrible thing. But I was wondering this too. I feel like given the subbed nature, and the fact that even in the North American releases the subs had the Japanese names, that the licensing is moot and they should be able to use the original name. Honestly, it's likely for the general understanding that the manga is called Case Closed, too. If the anime returned to the original name, it might be confusing for those who aren't already aware of the original material. That said; if they're not aware of the original material, they're sorely missing out.

All English localizations have gone by Case Closed since it was originally brought over. I get wanting to retain the purity of it, but this really isn't a battle worth fighting.

I can personally attest to this. Case Closed was my favorite show as a teenager, and I was heartbroken when it was cancelled in the U.S. (I was watching it on adult swim, so i didn't know it by any other name). Because I never knew the show was known by a different name in Japan, it was many years before I found out the show was never cancelled, and I was about 500 episodes behind. Best. Marathon. Ever.
