I either wish to change the PayPal account I use for crunchyroll or cancel my membership. Not being able to do either of these things is a little bit annoying. Am I missing something?

The first confirmation email I got a month ago claimed I successfully cancelled my recurring payment subscription. Then I get billed for a recurring payment subscription the very next month. I cancel again, get the same email, and yet my account a day or two later still reads as having active membership.

I wouldn't mind staying subscribed if I could at least change my payment method, though I don't watch too much anime these days. So how does one change one's payment method?

Have you canceled through PayPal, or just from your CR account?

I would also like to change my payment method from paypal to a credit card. I added a card on file but when I go to premium account page under current billing method it says "no card information" but under payment method it states my card is on file. I don't understand what is going on or how to correct this issue. I may just cancel my membership if I can't get this resolved.

Switching between payment methods is currently only supported between 2 credit cards.

Switching between 2 Paypal accounts, or from a credit card to a Paypal account, and vice-versa, does not work. You will have to cancel the renewal, and simply resubscribe with the new payment method once the old subscription expires.

I don't mind waiting for the current renewal to expire. The question is .. will it? I thought I cancelled it pretty hard the last time. Maybe there was some kind of overlap or something.

Do I actually need to cancel through PayPal or is Crunchyroll itself capable of processing such an action? .. Now that I think about it .. How the hell would one cancel through PayPal? Either way, it's no biggie for now.

.. Of much greater concern is Steam accusing me of fraudulently trying to use my new credit card on Steam. Because that happened. Yeah.

Consider cancelling the renewal through PayPal (or at least confirming they show it as cancelled) an extra safety mechanism.

As for how to cancel, this link should take you to the proper location (after you log in):
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_manage-paylist

If for some reason that doesn't work, you can do the following:

1. Log into PayPal

2. Click on the gear icon (next to the "Log out" button at the upper right of the page)

3. On the page that brings up, look under "Payment settings" at the bottom right section and click on the "Preapproved payments" link.


Your pre-approved payments will be listed there, and the name of each merchant will be a link to take further action. If the Crunchyroll renewal has been recognized by PayPal as turned off, it should be listed as either "Suspended" or "Inactive".

If the status is listed as "Active", then it is still set to issue a payment. Click through on the "Crunchyroll, Inc." link under "Merchant" and there will be a "Cancel" link on the page that it brings up.

so i received an email that tells me to update my payment methods, since i switched credit cards due to me losing my previous one, and each time i try to update my payment methods in my settings, they say sorry an error occured, is there some problems with the website?

You should /contact customer support directly for billing issues.
