People are angry because some coffee company won't make them feel special by ignoring the fact that there are other holidays besides Christmas.

When Toby Keith sings about a red cup everyone loves them, Starbucks uses red cups and they're the suddenly anti Christmas.

Apples and Oranges, but yeah it's stupid nonetheless.

(fyi, it's red solo cup (you know, for alcohol))

Seen the headline on newsfeeds. As far as I know, this may well be a hit piece by the secular media to skewer Christians. They cite this one guy's campaign as somehow representative of Christians in general. I'll assume he's sincere, but he's just one guy. As a Christian myself (and relatively fundamentalist at that, and who even buys Starbucks coffee on occasion-- much cheaper though to grind and brew your own cup at home) I've never heard of him, and no one I know really cares a wit about this (non-) "issue."

I'm starting to think this is the case. I mean, seriously, I run in a number of different conservative Christian circles. The verdict? This is a huge waste of time & no one is upset about it. I really don't know anyone actually making hay about this. I think it's a nothing-burger scandal brought on by one obnoxious loud voice that the media ran with because...they love talking about the "War on Christmas" more than anyone actually is willing to fight that fight.

There was the time the Christian Right was trying to tie the WoC into their "Hollywood movies destroy family values" campaign, saw all the North Pole marketing for "Polar Express", heard a rather half-informed review that Tim Allen in "Christmas with the Kranks" was "all about family" (with the daughter showing up for a reunion)--And went on a campaign that since Polar would surely dominate all our mainstream box-office that Christmas (snicker! ) with its candy-cane commercial message, they had to stage a Passion-like box-office ballot-stuffing in favor of promoting Kranks as the movie good people of faith should see.
Never mind that the plot of Tim Allen's movie had the main character and his wife actually trying to fight a War On Christmas in their neighborhood and run away from it.

If you're going to grab attention, people, research FIRST. It'll save a lot of embarrassment and public ridicule later.

There was? As a Christian on the right side of the American political spectrum, I don't recall that. Ever. Only opposition I know of regarding the "Polar Express" was that it was kind of boring (which it was, it can't keep my kids attention). I didn't even remember the film "Christmas with the Kranks"...so, there's that.

Wouldn't it still be cheaper just to take a lactase supplememnt with coffee that has milk products in it. It's what I do.

True enough, I just never liked the taste of cow or any animal milk really. I tried almond milk, rice milk, even coconut milk but only Soy milk tasted right when used to make a latte..to me anyway.

The same way I feel about red cups in general no matter what time of the year it is. I wasn't aware it was possible to get excited or angry because a cup is red.

It's a cup color. As long as the drink inside is good the cup couldn't matter less.
