Are you saying all American truck drivers are Mexican?

But back to the picture, it's a little over the top in the PC department. Anyone want to guess how long it took for them to get that picture THAT PC? I've been going through some old photos and it's strange at times.

We call them "truck drivers" but there are quite a few of them who are a part of the military. Driving a truck in a war zone is a very risky endeavor. They deserve to be honored, too.

It's very risky here in the US. About 900 to 1000 are killed each year on the road. That doesn't include those that pass away on the job and aren't killed in accidents. Add in injuries, it's a tough line of work.

Sheesh, quotes got all buggered on that.

My God the google front page isn't white enough. oh the humanity.

It changes all the time.
I don't even care to appreciate it no matter what Google is trying to celebrate.

lol, that should deter potential bitching and moaning by at least 25%. I'm sure the sjw types are quaking less in their loafers than usual. Even if vets are "mostly white" there are many diverse races of them regardless, lots of men volunteered and were drafted for war, statistically obviously not all of them were white. Anyway, regardless, Veterans Day is a day to recognize veterans and their dedication to the country, not their race.

It's not that, it's the pandering that annoys me, because you know they sat down in committee for a couple of weeks to come up with the village people looking picture you see there. Also that could be an Asian dude in the back waving.

I dunno, it's just trying too hard I think, makes it look more offensive.

This kind of bitching is why we're gonna be doomed.

There are more important things in life than to moan about the race of people in a Google doodle.

It's not like I'm going to protest google and start a hashtag fight over it, unlike some people, but it's just annoying. Sure thing there is a lot to piss and moan about, like shoveling snow.

If this is pandering then having the page mostly consist of white servicemen as per the OP's suggestion would equally be pandering, just to a different group. I'm sorry but I fail to see what about including a diverse range of people on the homepage is so damn galling. Demanding that white people should get a bigger slice of the pie so to speak comes off as frankly childish in the original post.

Should have made them dance the YMCA, it would be less offensive.

That wasn't my suggestion at all... It would be one thing if white men were just slightly a little underrepresented percentage wise for their demographic that wouldn't be a big deal at all, but white males are noticeably absent from the photo all together! And this wasn't a "coincidence they did the same thing last year as well. I just don't think its right to use Veteran's Day to push some Anti-white Diversity agenda.

Even if it was two white guys, two black guys and a Hispanic guy that would be fine, My point is white males haven't been in this Veteran's day photo for the second year straight now. Google is obviously doing this deliberately.

Army veteran here.

I can definitely imagine some white servicemembers or veterans being offended over this. That's right folks, even among the population that's served or is serving, there are entitled, whiny pieces of shit.

Anyone who would get offended at this completely misses the point of Veterans Day and gratitude towards veterans in general. I think it's hilarious that the point of it WASN'T missed by the vaguely racist grandpa mentioned earlier in this thread.

The point being that to honor one person who's worn the uniform is to honor all of them. Regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion or whatever other arbitrary shit you're interested in, they all made the same commitment. The commitment and sacrifices made are what bind us and define us. That's why vaguely racist grandpa didn't give two shits it was all brown people, and why you shouldn't either.

Thank you for serving! My brother also served in the Army.
