PETA is at it again....

So for those not in the know, PETA have sued a photographer over a selfie taken by a wild monkey. What happened that led to the photo being takes, was a photographer who put up a camera on a tripod where a monkey just so happened to jump infront of the camera and press the shutter, therefore making it a monkey selfie. But the photographer put in all the settings before the pic was taken, therefore if this was a human being and not a monkey involved, then the photographer would have the rights to the photo since he was the one behind the settings (ISO, Shutter and aperture) of the photo. (Btw I like the name PETA gave the money, Naruto...)

http://bokeh.digitalrev.com/article/another-monkey-wrench-in-the-works-the-selfie-saga-continues

Here's a small quote;

If this can be proven, or at least Naruto cannot be proven to be without doubt the subject and taker of the image, the already shaky pretence on which PETA’s lawsuit stands will collapse. They could file another suit, providing they can ascertain the identity of the primate that took the photo. Saying this, the original lawsuit was filed in San Diego and current US law does not permit copyright claims by non humans.

PETA is one of those organizations that I wouldn't mind if they just disappeared from the face of the Earth one day

i can only imagine the judge / court reaction...if it even goes to court that is.

judge: "This court is now in section. We'll now be looking at the case Peta v David Slater. The plaintiff may present their case."
peta: *insert a lengthy monologue about animal rights*
judge: "The subject in question, a monkey...
peta: "He has a name, and he's called Naruto!"
judge: "Ok this...Naruto. He may present his testimony now.."
peta *brings the monkey to court*

*the monkey quickly runs amok, utterly confused as to why he's in a room so filled with people*
*people grab their smartphones to record the monkey*
judge: "Order in court, order i say!"
"grab him / catch him"
peta: "no, he has rights! wait aaah"

now that i think about it, this might very well be the most enjoyable court cases.

Once upon a time there was a country far far away from our own called Atlantis. Atlantis had the universe most stable economy due to them developing a new type of tree called hyposaäkaå that had the wonderful ability to grow money. This was a great era for the universe since everyone who lived on Atlantis had money and didn't have to be poor like some are in todays world due to us loosing their wonderful trees... Or that's just called a typo, I'll fix that!

"facepalm"

Anyone with enough intelligence in the world would take this? Seriously.

Have PETA said anything about the experiment that led wild animals looking at a mirror before?

Fun Fact: Not only is PETA batshit crazy, it actually kills an overwhelming amount of the animals it takes in.
https://www.petakillsanimals.com/proof-peta-kills/

So the next time PETA accuses you of supporting animal abuse for daring to play a game in which a fictional plumber wears a suit made to resemble a tanuki, remind them that 88.3% of the animals that ended up in their custody during 2014 are now dead.

If the monkey does not have the mental capacity to hire a lawyer and object to his photo being used as such then he cannot file a lawsuit.

WEll PETA is trying to do it for the monkey. They claim that if they win then they'll use the money to help the monkey in some way... However the fuck their suppose to find that monkey will probably be their first concern
