I don't want to sound like some jerk, but has anyone ever gone up to a group of yoai/yuri fans and straight up asked: "what's wrong with heterosexuality?"

This question presupposes that yaoi and yuri fans have a problem with heterosexuality, which is not true. It's just fun to ship characters who maybe aren't going to be together. This goes for shipping in general, not just yaoi or yuri specifically.

That seems like a weird question to ask when there's so many more off the beaten path fetishes to have with both rl and drawn porn.

I don't understand why more people don't headcanon characters as being bisexual…

Crime against humanity.

Needs moar Nico, less rice girl.

Also, aint nothing cuter than when a yuri bae gets complimented on her outfit and tries to avoid going into Dere-dere mode.

I generally enjoy yaoi more because I find most women annoying (especially the way they're written).

Besides, it's usually hotter.

I usually enjoy Yaoi more because I'm fairly gay and its kinda just more fun/relatable to watch/read for me. Why would that make me have a problem with heterosexuality?

granted I do know a few people that wouldn't ship a heterosexual couple ever just because they think it is to boring. These people are not smart in my opinion. It depends on the personalities etc of the characters rather than the genders.

Alright so i have no problem with heterosexuality but i also like yuri. Now if im watching an anime and theres a chance between a strait relationship or a yuri ill probably want the yuri relationship to happen. Why? I just happen to really like yuri relationships in a anime, unless a strait relationship between a guy and a girl is really sweet and cute and what not then ill go with that. But really i like both strait and yuri relationships so.

I like heterosexuality but in anime it seems that yuri relationships are just so much better most the time for some reason.

Is that Sakura Trick? loved that anime.

As a fan of Yuri I can say nothing is particularly wrong with heterosexuality in literature per say. For the years of my life I've been raised with media that has depicted straight couples being lovey dovey and what not. Yuri goes against the standard of this so it's a sort of shock. Also being raised in a very homophobic family made yuri really exciting since it's like I'm watching something I shouldn't / forbidden.

you're a guy watching yuri it's not that forbidden

Most guys have no issues with yuri.

And then, there is Mizuki

Nope, it's an unofficial pairing in an anime series called, Love Live!. The more popular pairings for both girls are

To be honest, I think the only reason the nico(black hair) x maki(Red hair) references exist is because that's what the fans wanted (Because they're both tsundere's? ). You can see plenty of Maki x Rin(Orange hair) references in the anime and game. Which I think would have been the original implication(none of the pairings are official.).
