This is really disheartening...some days you just wonder what is going on in this world.

Oh well. Could have been worse. More lives could have been lost. Think 9/11.

THey shot up people at a restaurant and all over Paris. They also are holding hostages at a concert hall and now there's reports that they shot at a mall.

This is 9-11 level bad.

When it hits near ~3000 casualties... then it can be that bad. I am going on death counter here, not psychological warfare.

Don't get me wrong. I know it is big and wrong... but it could still be worse.

I don't think this is a competition.

Well obviously there's going to be more. It's not like they'll just pack up and disband after landing a massive blow like this.

It isn't. The pessimist in me always says it could be worse... then to give an example. Something of this scale in Paris is just petty.

It is probably just "workplace violence"

Well, as it turns out, religious extremism is the motivation in these attacks.

I'm surprised that it's so easy to own an AK-47 in France, and furthermore how loose security is for packed venues.

What's really distressing about the attacks, besides the people being killed, is that they set a bad precedent for the Muslim refugees coming from the middle east. It's a case of "a few bad apples ruins them all" kind of thing. I'm pretty sure that ISIS is the violent Muslim equivalent of the KKK (devoutly Protestant); but Christians don't get a bad rap for the KKK, and Muslims shouldn't get a bad rap for their extremists either.

At least the KKK never wanted to annihilate all western civilization. The Muslim extremists want everyone who doesn't think like them to simply die, and flip every government that isn't Shariah into a Shariah Muslim extremist society. The terrorists are more like Nazi's than the KKK, in that they're pretty much trying to forcibly change everyone's culture and law's through exterminations.

This attack on Paris is so that they can strengthen some roots in far west Europe. Killing droves on innocents is a quick and painful way to make a weak nation change their international policy in the Terrorist's favor whether, or at the very least scare them so bad that they'll hold their tongues from speaking against their beloved "Allah" in any media format.

We need to hurry up and kill these roaches.

The intrinsic value of human life shouldn't be measured by quantity, unless the person lacks a conscience, or the value is occupationally related.

It's way past time worldwide Muslim leaders reformed their religion and spoke out against this barbaric variant in the name of their religion. Where is the outrage from leaders of a civilized version of Islam?! Unless they do something to preserve and protect some legitimate, civil interpretation of their religion, this will be the dominant "war" for the next few centuries -- and will inevitably foster a huge violent backlash from western vigilantes.

I'm not implying it is. But these guys are on the loose. We don't even know what the death toll is at the restaurants that got hit or anywhere else. 100+ was just that theater ALONE.

This.

I'm seriously trying hard not to fall into 'MUSLIMS ARE EVIL' but goddamn man...if it was me, I'd speak out to show, 'Hey we're not batshit crazy.'

This could tip the already fragile relationship with the muslim population in France over the edge. The racial tensions have already been at breaking point for years now. In reality, Europe in general seems to be becoming more and more uncomfortable and tense with the muslim population and this definitely isn't going to help. It's sickening what's happened tonight, and my heart goes out to the victims and their families. A storm has been brewing since 9/11 and it's getting worse, the question is how is it going to end!
