For most of us, I'd say it's easy to get passive while we're reading. You're moving along, going through each panel, registering the dialogue, and then BAM - a particular illustration, line, or plot point jolts you back into the story, and you have to go back and reread the previous two pages.

Does anyone remember a specific time this happened to you?

For me, it was when Princess Kakyuu

Gintama is full of such moments. This is so true for episodes with Hedero and those with the Shogun For tragic "Oh no they didn't" moments, I remember when Pitou
in hunter x hunter Kite was so strong that I was sure he could take on the king himself.

Pretty much the last few chapters of Kuroshitsuji have made me say "oh no they didn't!" over and over. I mean seriously, what the heck is going on anymore?
