Go to my sister-in-law's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Gossip and talk about "stuff". I'll probably "harass" I mean "play" with my nephews and baby niece.

Already done that. Canada!
Three Dinners, one at party with potluck, many good cookers, yay.
Other with family, as always.. Polish food with turkey, thank mom!
Then, at my friends' home, all these roommate's first time thanksgiving dinner host. And great foods, but pumpkin pies was disastrous.
Good times. This year was great.

Hoping to observe more dysfunctional family antics.

And cooking, I'll be making a lot of food. Someone has to feed the crazies.

I will be making Italian cuisine at my friend's house. I know a few basic things, like from-scratch tomato sauce, but it never hurts to practice. I love learning in the kitchen. We both do, actually.

I specialize in Japanese food so I need to step outside my comfort zone sometimes.

Im thinking of just getting so boxed mashed potatoes and mac an cheese then call it a night

in all the past thanksgiving I've always made too much food. It's expensive and most of it goes down the drain.

You mean early Black Friday, because I think I'll be making line before eating turkey like I did last year.

I'll be flying over the Pacific wishing my flight had been booked a day later or at least after I had some dinner. Who the hell books a 16 hour flight for Thanksgiving morning? Evil bastards.

My family and I are going for a hike in the morning. Then my mom and dad will make the meal, while my older brother and sister make dessert .

Back in the old days, we USED to get everything done in the kitchen in the morning while the Macy's parade was on (and then check on the cookies every time an NBC soap star sang "Winter Wonderland"), and then put the turkey in the oven the minute the first local-afternoon station showed "March of the Wooden Soldiers".

However, nowadays, since it's just me and we don't have the latter anymore ( ), I just stick to putting a white meat turkey-breast (hate dark meat and I don't like to eat drumsticks outside of the theme parks) into the slow cooker, and let it baste itself on High for 4 hours.
Oh, and ask me for my apple-raisin-mushroom sage stuffing recipe sometime.

Oh, and since the networks don't show March, ET, Home Alone or Sound of Music anymore, I usually rotate a Blu of one of the three-hour family films the networks or stations used to put on so they could give their employees the day off.
Used to be either Willy Wonka or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, or the local afternoon station showing Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm. Good thing I kept that VHS player.

(And in my day, junior, "Black Friday" was "The day after Thanksgiving, when they officially start showing the Christmas specials."
It didn't start becoming "Black" until we all started stampeding for Cabbage Patch Kids and ColecoVisions, and the greedy stores wanted to make Wal-mart trample fatalities a "tradition".)
