Are the rest of the titles going to be "old school" too? I love this idea either way, just curious...

The library expansion is a great idea~! Some 80s and 90s mecha and magical girl shows would be cool. And some classic tokusatsu, if possible?

Hopefully the expansion of library that you speak not remain only for USA and Canada, other territories deserve classic series.

Hey everyone, Miles here! You asked, and we're delivering - this week we have six incredible titles to add to the Crunchyroll library in what we're calling our CRUNCHYROLL LIBRARY EXPANSION PROJECT

Yeah, thanks.

If you're going to announce not only a library title but the first of several, can you please give the "Not in your neck of the woods" disclaimer first.

Multiple paragraphs of hype followed by a proverbial kick in the teeth really doesn't go down well.

I'd like to see some old classic Gundam series, or that one show with Lum in it.

I need to point out that the culprit for Cobra being US and Canada only is not Nozomi nor Crunchyroll but Tokyo Movie Shinsha . TMS have an abysmal track record on Crunchyroll for any territory outside the US/Canada. Don't believe me? If you're outside the US/Canada, check out their CR Publisher page: http://www.crunchyroll.com/publisher/TMS You'll cry laughing or just end up crying.

To my knowledge TMS have never engaged with any non-US distributor (I'd be glad to be corrected on this) for streaming rights on anything. They just don't see anyone in the UK/ROI (and further out) as part of any business plan they want to be part of. Instead of standing up to them, CR is playing it safe and not rocking the boat by asking for more rights. Just don't think it's a money issue because CR is way past the point that money is THAT much of an issue.

CR calls it CRUNCHYROLL LIBRARY EXPANSION PROJECT? I call it "TMS took pity on us again."

I'd suspect given the time frame that the titles have already been decided, but since you're asking:

Dirty Pair would be dandy.
Having some more proper way to watch Galaxy Angel again would also be lovely, although I don't know that's quite considered a "classic."
Is a decade long enough for Flag to qualify? Because having a legal way to watch Flag again would be great. (Oh gosh, that's barely older than Lucky Star. Where does the time go?)
Having the Read or Die OVA join the TV series that's already on CR would be nifty.
And, of course, a classic like Brother, Dear Brother would be a great way to cap things off.

Well, I'm not gonna raise my hopes of seeing those exact titles too much, of course. Hopefully whatever does get added is neat like this first addition is.

EDIT:

If this is indeed going to be a TMS-centric round of acquisitions, Lady Georgie would be a fantastic addition. Yay for more classic shoujo titles. (Not to say something like Tomorrow's Nadja wouldn't also be really appreciated, of course.)

This is really great news 'n all, but from what I've read, none of them are gonna be available on here over here in the UK for me to be able to watch, going by the last sentence in the original first post, only in the USA and Canada :(

Go pester Manga UK, believe they have the rights to Nozomi shows over there.

Manga UK possess no streaming rights to any Nozomi shows as they are no longer part of the same company as Manga US. As they're an independent distro now, any rights they do have will expire soon.

Cant think of many more classics i would like to see that you don't already have.

I haven't heard of Truth and Betrayal, sounds interesting. Cowboy Bebop and Trigun are on xfinity but it'd be nice to have them on here and Yu Yu Hakusho would be amazing, I remember watching it on toonami but it hasn't shown for a long time and isn't available on Xfinity.... ooh what about Big O? that show always looked cool but it was on so late I didn't manage to catch enough of it to really follow it, same with Cashern Sins. I'm sure there's a lot of shows that used to be on there that people would be happy to see again like Cowboy Bebop and Trigun and some others I know are already on here. I'd suggest Symbionic Titan but I know that's one of their exclusives, it used to be available on xfinity but not anymore, still there's a lot of others. Wolf's Rain would be great too, I know people call that a classic, even a major point in anime history.

Been watching Black Butler on xfinity but they're missing season two, don't know if that'd count as a classic though.

Looks like it's a bunch of Nozomi Entertainment titles! :D
Just look at the publisher and you might find out the other titles that haven't been announced yet.
