Depends, if it's an item, I won't cause it's whoever dropped the item who is at fault, and given I have no desire for money/items, I don't feel the need to steal them either.

If it's a lost animal/pet, I will ignore the animal cause I'm sure the animal can survive on it's own.

If it's an injured person, then I'll help them out until they can support themselves.

I would pick it up. I wouldn't be a jerk and resell a phone or take money from a wallet containing ID, though.

If the owner is identifiable, I'd try to return it. I'd keep it only if I can't identify the owner.

Well, if I found money on the ground, there'd be no way of knowing who to return it to. Maybe if it's in a wallet, then yeah I'd try to turn it in. Most other things I'd probably just leave alone.

If it's traceable and/or alive, no. Otherwise, yes.

I find it and it has value it's mine with the exception of a phone. Animals not so much unless it's a breed I absolutely love but could never afford....and as long as I didn't find it anywhere near my house.

I found $100 laying on the side of the road in my teens. There was no way to find out who owned the money, so it became my money and I spent it on buying a new paintball gun. It sucks for whoever lost it. I'm sure they were super bummed unless they were so rich that $100 could substitute toilet paper for them.

I think I recall my parents finding an envelop stacked full of 100's one time. Maybe someone's rent money? I have no clue what happened to all that money, but I can probably guess.

Money by itself? Duh. Free money is always nice.

Animals? That's another mouth to feed so I'll pass on that.

Items that can be tracked to the owner? Depends on how much hassle it is. Phones can be tracked so I'd probably leave it where it is.

A child? Call the police and stay with the kid until they arrive.

Really? Most people don't seem to understand why I hate dogs. Well I say hate them... more like absolutely terrified of them. They hate me too o.o
