Okay: What's your favorite Stooge short, and why? Do you prefer the Curlys to the Shemps, or their later independent features with Curly Joe?

(....There, let's see them try to answer THAT one. The one stumbling block no female member of the species has yet been able to conquer. )

Aren't half of those threads meant to be seen as a joke/parody thread of some sort?

Women r scary so I need 2 ask questions online
for science

Seriously, if you want to get a woman just go hide in the bushes and hold a fishing rod with cheesecake as the bait. It's almost guaranteed to work.
Protip: if cheesecake doesn't work, use a popular magazine.

BECAUSE...sad truth about guys here, girls, but it can also apply to anime ("Why so many harem comedies and marriage contracts?"):

Some guys don't really date in high school. We're not talking "losers", we're talking about the misogyny that happened when we still thought our Best Buds were more interesting than "icky" girls, and found each others' bro-company more interesting than risking the rejection of trying to ask a girl out in high school. (At the age when they're trying to assert their independence by how quickly they can shoot down guys' egos.) A holdover from junior high, when girls really were Icky and Weird, and social understanding never quite developed into the years of puberty when guys should be experimenting with Those Weird Creatures Who Sit On The Toilet Instead of Standing.

So, it's safer to hang out with people who think and see the world as you do, can talk about what "chicks" look and act like from the outside, and can share your fears and resentments of venturing into strange territory that can bring crushing rejection. There's always the sports teams, the hangouts, the other safe social refuges from the cold, harsh judgmental world that might call you an ungraceful idiot.
Later on, in college, you might not have your old junior high->HS buds anymore, you're now on your own or with a different set of "bros", and now expected to conquer your fears of rejection and get serious about asking girls out. But since one might have fewer actual experiences, most of the Observation of Chick Behavior comes from the mass media--Like TV and advertising, which is largely pitched to kissing up to an "empowered" and vanity-driven female demographic, and their fear-driven fantasy of reducing males' image to an unthreatening image of loser slobs who don't ask directions and won't let go of the remote. Needless to say, it isn't encouraging to thoughts of success.

(Fear of Girls is the driving force behind most shonen anime comedy as well, but there we're talking about a country that almost literally separates the boys and girls into no mutual social contact from an even earlier age--Also giving us the Fear of Boys shows for shoujo, like yaoi fantasies or romances where the girl can't make her senpai notice her because he thinks girls are "boring" and not as interesting as the sports team.)

Which is how someone can be in their 20's and still ask "Do you girls really, like, put on makeup and stuff? That's weird!"
Trying not to sound like the same 13-yo. who asked that back in seventh grade.

Don't get too close or he might over analyze why you feel the need to read his post then some up with a wild theory based on no facts at all.

You complain that General has become too enveloped in serious, in-depth conversations when it's supposed to be lighthearted and not at all serious. Now you complain that General has become too enveloped in lighthearted, insubstantial discussions.

I don't think you really know what you want at all, CR.

O:......... WHY NO QUESTIONS FOR AGENDERS?! /left out
Just kidding, I don't want this style of question. It almost seems as if they are meant to trivialize a whole gender by formulating supposedly belittling generalizations as a question and fishing for responses, thus feeling like their so-called 'question' (really more of a sneering statement) is getting approval, all under that innocent guise! EGADS. IT WAS ALL SHENANIGANS!

Point from this discussion tho, socialization across genders from a young age sure is important, yessiree. Everyone is people, and by extension, too complex to be shoved into trivial categories with their list of stereotypes such as zodiac signs, blood types or gender shmenders.
