I don't watch anime/read manga that much anymore, but I watch anime because it gives me something to do.

It's better than most of what's on TV nowadays. Not to mention it's a nice hobby I like to indulge myself in

It just seems to kind of come naturally to me, but I suppose if I had to give a real reason it's because animation offers a lot of options live action doesn't.

Yeah, that live action tentacle love scene never did anything for me :/ Too much camp and narm factors when it comes to live action.

You could see the strings on the octopus puppet, for Heaven's sake. There was borderline zero production value. What's the draw supposed to be?

I don't know, people get turned on by this sort of thing? I admit, some things have gotten better in terms of computer animation and whatnot (which is still technically animation right?) and some anime live action adaptations such as Parasyte aren't half bad looking, but I feel the camp factor is still there, which comically contrasts with the grimdark setting of Attack on Titan (Watched it, it was terrible in a funny sort of way.) and well Parasyte.

Actually, I think you may be on to something here. The comedic potential for a live action series poking fun at ridiculous hairstyles, gelatin boobs, and so on in anime would really be pretty high.
