It seems to be working now.

One suggestion, mix a little the commercials, watching the same commercial three times in a row is a downer.

I've noticed it works for me intermittently now. I think it might be that certain ads cause it to crash. For the people having no luck it might simply be that certain ads (possibly region based, etc) just cause it to crash. It might even be a resolution issue which would explain why different resolutions yield different results for different people.

Same issue. I just activated my non premium account on a brand new tcl roku tv. Before I activated, I had been watching shows on the app anonymously without issue. Bet if I deactivate, it will work again. Lame.

that is not the similar at all, that is just your internet connection. I've had the same issues at the beginning, but now I have this issue of playing a video and before it starts it brings me back to the home page,

On mine, when I try to play an episode I get ads, followed by the show's intro, followed by ads, and then it crashes. Tried different episodes as well as changing the settings in video preferences on both the website and on the Roku itself. Roku 2: 2720X

I've been having the same problem too, I have a Roku 2 and Roku 3 and tried removing channel and adding back and reactivating. nothing works. channel comes up fine and works but as soon as you try to play video it crashes and goes to home screen. ive had roku and been watching crunchyroll for a few years now and i feel like this has happened before. is there any info on a fix or how to contact tech support?

My roku has the same problem. Some times I can get ads followed by intro followed by ads then kicked out to roku menu. The rest of the time I get sent straight to the roku menu when I try to play an episode.

This is a slight improvement from last night where I always got sent straight to the roku menu.

I am also having the same problem. Sometimes the app goes to the menu after the opening. However, most of the time when I start an episode, it goes straight to the home menu. Does Crunchyroll tech support know when they will fix this?

Seems to be caused by some ads. I loaded up the crunchyroll app on my Xbox and it seems there are new ads that play fine on the Xbox app, but that I never see on the Roku app. My Roku can play their older ads fine.

In case anyone from crunchyroll support does read this, this is exactly the sort of thing that made me cancel my premium account in the first place - the really dismal new Roku app you guys rolled out shortly after I purchased a premium subscription. I've kept on watching with the ads in the hopes you guys would eventually make the app better. I have yet to see that happen, and things like this are definitely keeping me from re-subscribing.

Was about to start a new thread when I found this one. Same thing has been happening to me this week on my Roku 2 Didn't watch the whole previous month, so I don't know when the problem might've started, but all was working fine as of Oct 27, at least. Now? I click the next episode of a show I'm in the middle of, and even before any ads I get kicked back to my Roku home screen. I *was* able to start a new show two days ago, but now I can't continue watching that show, either, nor start any other new shows, apparently.

This is maddening, for sure, being stuck in the middle of a show. Was thinking of maybe trying out a premium membership soon, but obviously I'm not going to be giving my money to them until I at least see that they can fix problems.

This is my first time on these forums. What's the likelihood of someone from CR showing up here with some useful info?

Gees Crunchyroll boots me out when trying to play punch line anime series. If I play one their crunchy main menu shows it plays fine. But while watching 1 episode of hack a doll it plays fine, the credits starts playing and kicks me out of Crunchyroll fast. I restarted roku 3 and displayed 720p

I'm sure Crunchyroll will eventually fix these bugs for free members, but I couldn't say what sort of ETA they could have for that.
