Did you revoke authorization via /acct/?action=devices before reinstalling the channel? This often fixes the issues occurring in the course of version updates.

Any updates on this "Sorry, the app can't continue playing your video because of an unexpected error" problem? I am a premium plus member, have deleted and readied this channel (including revoking authorization and reauthorising), have done a hard restart of my Roku 2, have logged out and back in again, yet continue to have the same problem. I can still watch things on my computer, so it has to be some kind of Roku-Crunchyroll problem. The Roku support has one message

"A recent update to the Crunchyroll channel on Roku will require you to log into the Crunchyroll channel again, due to a service change in the channel.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We hope you continue to enjoy Crunchyroll on your Roku device.

Please feel free to reach out to Crunchyroll support directly at [email protected] with any further questions. " I don't know, however, how old this message is to know whether it pertains to this version update or some older one.

Overall, I have been very happy with my Crunchyroll, and will continue to support the channel. Just want to watch on my TV instead of on my computer.

After two months of not being able to watch Anything from Crunchyroll on my roku I am giving up. I've tried all the fixes - uninstalled -and re-installed the app several times - revoked all the devices etc... NOTHING has fixed this Playback error issue. So I've just decided to cancel my premium membership and instead give the money to either Hulu or Funimation. I'm tired of the canned answers I keep getting from Crunchy about them being aware of the problem and not fixing it.

Is your Roku's firmware itself updated to the latest version?

Been in the same boat, as well. Mine's a Roku 1 #2710x. If there's anything I'm frequently seeing in common with the issue, it's the setup involving older TVs. Don't know if that includes everyone or even has any bearing on the current problem, but thought I'd throw that in...

HDMI Cable - have it set at 480 for now - but have had it on all the others as well trying to get it to work.

Has there been any progress on this? I've yet to hear back from customer support and it's been about two months since the app worked on my roku by this time.

They are on it and working with Roku to get a better understanding of the non-standard devices like the NowTV boxes.

I'm glad to hear that the nowtv boxes are being looked at, but mine's an older roku. I would have thought they'd already be fairly familiar with that one. So are roku 1s that have this problem being left out?

I have been a premium member since 2013, and I am finished as well. I have signed up with Funimation (Damnedest thing, THEIR ROKU APP ACTUALLY WORKS!!!!!), and I am cancelling my Crunchyroll premium service as of today. We have been telling support about these issues since the app update. I even sent them all my network diagnostic info they asked for. All I get is "Our techs know there is a problem with the Roku app and they are working on it". No info as to whether the fix might come in days, weeks, months, or at all. You could at least give us the option of reverting back to the previous app.
FYI, I am using a Roku 1 without HD. I have an old standard definition TV and thus have no use for an HD box. The problem obviously has to do with streaming at non-HD resolution.
I may consider becoming a premium member again one I can watch on Roku, but no guarantees.
