If I didn't wear a shirt I would have cuts and scratches all over myself. The shirt acts as an early warning sign that I am about to walk into a thorn bush or I am walking too close to the wall. Cloth armor ftw

Get some muscle and it won't hurt as much.

Muscle doesn't protect the skin.

I'm thinking it's because our manly chest hair could get entangled with something.

They do, and they're also an erogenous zone for men, too. They just aren't as sensitive as women's. Not usually, anyway.

Unlike women, we don't have anything to cover up/censor on our upper bodies. Guys get shirtless on the beach all the time so it's clearly not a social issue. So why?

It's okay at the beach, but most other places it's not tactful unless you like stares. In that case, do what you must as long as it's legal, ya?

I wear my silkies (military issue thin short shorts), and nothing else at home. In public, I like to be modest, and I like it when others are modest. That's just a personal preference it's not like I look down on nakedness.

Although, if you're showing lots of skin, don't be one of those people who gets mad when people stare.. bring a taser too just in case, because people suck.
