now I would usually be gung ho to helping people, and say yes lets bring some over, at this point in time because of isis, and the problem with our country not even being able to take care of its own citizens right now, I say no, yes there are a lot of actual refugees, women children men etc, but I would rather not take the risk , there are other countries OVER SEAS, that can take them in, again its always look to mother America for help or to do something

Don't do it America. Most are men, hardly any women or children (not that I'm saying men are expendable) but they don't seem to be 'fleeing to safety'. Especially when they have trashed the places been given to them already in EU, have complete lack of respect or civility (but what do you expect from a culture that will never evolve).

Is US obligated as a developed nation to accept refugees of lesser nations?

I'd hope not. I'd rather we have some room to play with and asset whether or not it's a good idea at the time.

see that is the thing, I forgot where it says it, but apparently in a way yes,
Obama said that we will take them in and im not quoting but basically said its stupid that the states don't want them to come and its not who we are as americans

The UN is an international power meddling in international affairs with the US making a bulk of the military forces.Perhaps due to the nature of the UN we accept the responsibility of caring for lesser nations to work towards a better future. If North Korea falls, who'll help the refugees? Is it ethical to close off the borders knowing millions will die in the wake of such a tragedy? I think most of us agree that the US is obligated to help the members of its own nation in different ways, but how about humanity as a whole? Aren't we all human? Yet how are we obligated to help people with little relation to us?

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Why do we even have a statue of liberty anymore when no one wants to, you know, do what it says?

I feel this is Europe's problem, but the refugee thing is what we as Americans do in general I don't see the problem with taking them.

now see, it is not like refugees coming over from, lets say - a non existant scene- china attacking korea, Koreans are fleeing, china isn't trying to use the refugees as a way to get into other countries, isis is doing that, even if they don't bring weapons OVER HERE, what with our crappy gun control system they can very well get their hands on guns ammo and make their own bombs, its a risk, even with documents and money, you stil cant be 100 percent sure who is a bad apple in the bunch, until it is near too late

I don't remember there being a line on there asking for us to take in "those that want to kill us and destroy what we believe in because we believe in a different Spaghetti Monster". Because that's exactly what we'd be doing by letting them all in.

Regarding the topic - Nope. Europe's problem. Remind me again how many immigrants from Central and South America Europe offered to take from us when we were inundated with thousands of undocumented minors last year? None. But now, when they're faced with the same problem, the EU runs to the UK and the US to take them?

I've seen comparisons drawn to a ship full of Jewish refugees in WWII that the US turned away. That's apples and oranges. Jewish immigrants aren't flocking to other nations with the intention of destroying the country until it adopts their religion and way of life. The Jews did not hijack our planes on 9/11 and kill over 3000 people that day. The Jews did not commit the subway attack in the UK on 7/7, and they weren't bombing Paris last week. If the Syrians want us to take them in, start cleaning up your own population first by getting rid of the extremism. Because, I guarantee you that if a group of people were out doing what ISIS is doing in Syria, there would be a lot of Americans willing to clean up that mess themselves.
